| Soo frickin stressed! Ok I need to vent.. I just got a new male chi/yorkie mix, cute as a button, pees everywhere, every 10 minutes, My older yorkie Marley is marking everywhere now even though shes a girl! I just made the appointment to get Marley spayed ( scared about that ) and Marley is now starting to hide under the couch even though she somewhat warmed up to Colt ( our new little guy ). We started letting Marley sleep with us and we think that is helping with everything. She is just acting like she never has been potty trained. I feel bad for leaving the little guy in his cage but its got everything he needs in it, bed, food, blanket, pee pad. I just feel like im in over my head now. I made the vet appointment for him this friday. ...sigh... He is such a sweet sweet boy but he is so playful, and Marley is more relaxed and likes to cuddle and lay with you. She lets him get near and then she bolts for it once he nips are her. He had her by the lip today and she didn't even yelp or bark, she just kept backing away trying to get loose. She is too sweet !! LoL She won't stick up for herself, poor thing. He takes everything from her, toys, treats you name it he punks her out of it. I started telling him no and giving it back to her and showering her with kisses. I think that might be working. I told my DH to not let Colt charge at her or take things from her. What else can I do? It's gotten to the point where I feel so bad for Marley that I have cried. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have been all over other YT forums trying to get advice. I have never had a puppy this small and its a whole new world to me. Now I know what all the other YTers were talking about when they get so frustrated with their furbabies. I was lucky with Marley, she was about 7 months and a doll baby. This guy is a little "sweet" ankle biter ( litterally ) lol

| I know your frustration, but it is going to take some time and patience. Female dogs do mark, so that is not a myth. I am sure the arrival of the new pup has made Marley display certain behaviors. I think some dogs need to just be "the only One' I am not sure if Marley is or not. If you really feel like things are out of hand and over your head then can you give the baby back ? If not then the old word TIME is what it is going to take. They need time to get to know one another and become friends. I hope it all works out and I hope they become best friends. I am sure with time, patience and your consistency things will be ok. Good Luck |

My furkids Donating Member | Like the above poster has already said...females will mark as well. If your new little guy is peeing inside she is going to go and mark over it showing it is HER territory. Sadie was 2 yrs old when we brought Lillie home...Lillie was, and still is, FULL of energy! It took MONTHS for Sadie to warm up to Lillie. Lillie would run around like a little maniac and Sadie would stand there and watch her. Sadie would take a toy from Lillie then go hide it under a pillow...I too, felt really bad for Sadie when Lillie came to live with us....I NEVER thought about giving her back to the breeder but, it broke my heart when I would watch Sadie....You could see the hurt in her little face...After several months Sadie started to like her new fursister...give it time...I know it's not easy but it will get better....trust me! Good Luck!
