I think the red hourglass is a black widow, not a brown recluse... either way that is neither of them.

I had a spider on my patio screen slider door last year, she was HUGE!!! I posted a link last year... I let her stay there mainly because I was too chicken to get anywhere near the door.... so she stayed for like 2 weeks and I couldn't go out onto my deck, then one day she was just gone. PHEW!!!

I am with the others... the only spider I like is a dead one! I have goosebumps from your pics!!! YUCK YUCK!!!!!

That's a rare New Jersey Jumping Spider. They ambush their prey. The wait until something gets to close and then JUMP on them. I hear they are particularly fond of things that resemble cameras and curious teenagers....

i kill spiders i see in the house because i am afriad they will bite my dog. if they are outdoors i usually try to avoid them. i dont like spiders!!!!!

Hes nothing to worry about. I had one of them by my door just the other day. Im even thinking about naming mine

. Haha. They are helpful really. I saw it eat a misquito the other day ( after it got stuck in his web ) !

Its not bothering me so its aloud to stay on my porch. They must be a NJ thing

They are harmless.....but, I will not live with them. The problem with them is that they hide during the day. That just creeps me out, so I simply relocate them. Or shall I say I make my son relocate them.
