I am so sorry you had to go through this.
I also feel bad for the poor bat, he must have been friendly or use to people in order to snuggle up with you in the bed

,but I have to agree as much as I love animals I am too important to my children to leave them beacuse I couldn't bring myself to test that bat.
Good luck and keep us posted on the results of the biopsy.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I would have freaked out, too! How Scary!!!

It is good that it is getting tested. There was a kid a few years ago who woke up because he felt something brush past him. Turned out it was a bat. But because he didn't see of feel a bite he didn't go to the doctor or get it tested. He ended up dying because by the time he had any symptoms it was too late.

You can never be to careful. I sure hope it tests negative. I have heard those shots are not fun at all, but better than the alternative I guess.

Test results are in and the poor freaky little thing did NOT have rabies!!!!

You have no idea what a relief it was to get that phone call! Still, even lastnight my 6 yr old wanted to sleep with us and he rolled over in the middle of the night and brushed his hand across my arm. I knew it was him, he was warm and not cold like the bat, but it still freaked me out terribly. My husband turned on all the lights and let me search the bed before I could go back to sleep. It will just take some time I'm sure. But the thought of it is still so scary!

Wonderful news!!! It will probably take much more time for you to feel comfortable again but I am thankful that you are OK otherwise!!
