Football Season Started

The cowboys are my husbands team as well. The girls and I took off for most of the day and happen to come home right before the game ended. All we hear is VERY LOUD Cheering that can be heard before even getting to the driveway. Needless to say he was very happy. I have to admit, I seen the highlights after and it did look like a very good game!

I absolutely detest football. I wish it started in the dead of winter and ended in February.

It's a shame it has to start in Sept, the most beautiful weather in the Bay Area, and our last few sunny Sundays are spent indoors.

I dunno about the rest of the nation, but my bf gets the NFL Sunday ticket, which means there's about 100 games going on at once, and he can't stay on one station for more than 15 mins!

I actually like watching football. We make a day of it usually and eat "football" food and wear Jets jersey's. My husband does a lot of screaming AND cursing at the tv! Of course Brutus had his on too! My husband LOVES the jets but they really sucked yesterday!

I so agree! I even bought a book several years ago, so I could better understand the game!! I LOVE college football & attend all of the OU home games - my husband makes all of the away games. I don't care for pro football as it seems to be more about the $$$ than the game IMO. OU lost their season opener which stunned many fans (especially since we have played for the national championship 3 out of the last 5 years!!)
- I think we are going to be in for a long season, but it's still fun to watch!!

We have some very good friends who are from Cresent, OK!! We have been fortunate enough to be working with them sometimes during football season! Believe it or not .... we even got together for a few of the Bama/OU games!! Like I said ... we are good friends and fortunately we are all "good losers"! We actually didn't care who won, as long as it was a good game .... someone had to lose!! They are some of the most wonderful people we have ever known!!

I know the feeling, My boyfriend blames me for the rams loosing.. He said if I would have stayed sleep and not ask so many questions that they could have won.... I'm learning this football stuff so I can keep up with him..

My husband has been to Alabama when OU plays & of course been around the C R A Z Y Bama fans when playing in Norman. We have great respect for your fans & do cheer for Bama EXCEPT when OU is playing them! It is amazing how bad some fans can be - but Alabama has always been great! (& I'm not saying OU doesn't have plenty of obnoxious fans as well ) I think I help bring my husband back to reality a little by telling him football is JUST a game - then kindly remind him of some of the REAL tragedies going on in the world! Some people go into a state of depression when OU loses - we are disappointed but can quickly move on with life! (I am almost 50 years old & my dad played for OU in the '30's! - so we are lifelong fans!)

I LOVE football. (go Giants). A friend of mine was talking about football (he's a male) and I said I love it. He was saying that my husband must love me. When I told him that he hates football he said he couldn't believe I was a fan and I married the only man in America who doesn't love it. I said it was a good thing because otherwise our kids would be orphans the whole season!

Thank you so much!! We do have quite the reputation for being a tad CRAZY ... OK, maybe a lot CRAZY!!! But most of us see it as you ... it's JUST a game! Of course it's more fun when we win but I believe too that there's much more important things to be upset about!! We love watching OU ... especially with our friends from OK! We do have family & friends who stay mad for a long time ... we just try not to discuss football with them! Our "real" rival of course, is Auburn! It's really sad when we lose to them!! I will give them credit for having a wonderful veterinary school down there! They saved our poodle, Nicole [RIP], from being paralized and the care she received there exceeded the care received in some human hospitals!!

I actually don't mind the game. When my hubby is gone I watch it myself. But it's the whole yelling and screaming that I don't like. He throws plastic cups at the television, uses bad language etc. He is just way to involved with his Packers...
