| This is going to sound odd... looking for suggestions... If anyone else is a big blog reader out there... then they might get this... if not.. that's ok too... I have been following this blog for months. The Spohrs Are Multiplying and was beyond devastated when sweet Maddie passed away- yes, she is a stranger, but I saw her daily online and she just brightened up my day with her smile. Anyways, I have been thinking about Maddie and her family since she passed away and I wanted to send a card and a little something... but I don't even know what you send someone who has lost their child... does anyone have any ideas??? it needs to be purple.... |

Thor's Human Donating Member | I think it's very sweet of you to want to send something, and I'm sure it will touch the family. I have not lost a child, but I did lose someone very close to me. I would recommend sending a card, with maybe the cutout of a flower, something simple. You might want to write something about a certain post that stuck with you, or what struck you most about Maddie, such as her smile. Tell her that you will remember Maddie, and that she touched you. It can be very comforting to the bereaved to know that other people cared about their loved one and saw why they were special.

| Girl, I know where you're coming from! I love reading blogs about others so much! I was reading the same blog the other day for the first time and ah, so heartbreaking. Such a beautiful baby. Not sure how to answer your question but just wanted you to know, I'm right there with you possibly sounding odd.

| I think that is really sweet of you. I think the best gift you can give anyone who has lost someone they love is letting them know how that person touched your life. I would just write a letter in the card telling them specific examples of moments that touched you.

| I love reading blogs too. I never read the one you mentioned, but I love Pioneer Woman and the NieNie Dialogs. NieNie and her husband were in a near fatal plane crash and are recovering from horrible burns. They have four little kids...so, I know how easy it is to get addicted and feel like you actually know these people.
