YorkieTalk on Twitter?

Ok here I go with the ULTIMATE dumb question. I figure I can FIND Twitter, and I can probably figure out how to set up an account..... BUT..... drum roll please



Could someone please explain to me what Twitter is and what it does? I mean I feel like YorkieTalk is my HOME -- I barely have time to keep up here much less join another forum or another entity where I will get drawn up and away .....
