Sorry to hear about your husband. I remember reading that he was ill a while back. What does he have? Will he be ok? Tara, thank you sweetie! You put a smile in my face! I am pretty ha. LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!! No but really, I have a weight issue as well. I am 180 and was ok with that till up to about last year. I'm getting older and things are not sitting like they used to. As you can see my face is very round and seems to be falling. LOL my chin hangs a bit more then I care for it to. My arms and tummy,,,,, forget it! The only part of my body that is still in very good shape is my legs. I take after my mamma with the legs! My mom is going to be 60 and still has nice firm and smooth legs. I do hope everything works out for your mother and that she heals with flying colors! It took my sister quite a while to heal,,, but if she had to do it all over again she would do it in a heart beat!

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | LOL Monica - your post was so funny - you look GOOD and you should be proud of how you look - we can't control our looks but we sure are critical of ourselves aren't we ? I know I do that too - and I loved your pictures - It's great seeing people we talk to - and that was a great post about your sister...nice to hear sucess stories about this surgery ! On my hubby - thank you for asking and to be honest - no ...he won't ever be ok - but hopefully he can hold on for a while - it's terminal... and he got really bad this year.... so this is all new to me (and of course him too) but I'm always looking for different things for him to try. Thanks for asking though - that means alot. |

| Oh, Vilette, I'm so sorry. I really am. I wondered how he was doing since you mentioned that he stayed home during your son's wedding. You always maintain such an upbeat and encouraging spirit. I'm praying for you and for him and will continue to do so. I know I've never met you but I care about you and your family. I think the world is a better place because you are here.

| Funny thing reading this post on here today. I am in the process of doing all the paper work and jumping through the hoops for my surgery. I read one post where her insurance denied her, honey keep trying! They will give in sooner or later and it is better for you to have it now than later, work with your family doctor on the paper work end of it. DON'T GIVE UP! Another post said they would get turned down for having diabetes- nope that is why my brother in law had it done because he was diabetic. I just saw a friend of mine who had the surgery done May 21, 2005 for the first time since then and I walked right past her and didn't even recognize her, she lost almost 70 pounds already! But this surgery does not work if you don't work with it. It is only a tool to help you eat less and feel good, have energy and help get the body you want. I am sorry this is so long but this is something I have been researching for a few years and I am ready to have my thinking and change my life. I love who I am but I hate the way I look! I only have myself and my lack of will power towards food to blame for it.....I will keep everyone posted on the progress! Sorry this is so long....I can't run a mile but I can type and chat forever!

| I have a friend who had the surgery done and lost 160 lbs. She was even on the Oprah Winfrey show a couple years ago. I met her after her weightloss and can't imagine that she was ever heavy. She is a real fitness buff and is careful about what she eats, always reading labels. I think she has to take supplements. She teaches spin classes and looks fabulous, 5'9'' and a size 6. She has successfully completed 3 marathons. I'm so proud of her. I wonder if she would have lost the weight without the surgery because it was a complete lifestyle change.

| I am curious about the extra skin. I am afraid that if I could afford the surgery that then I'd have all this loose skin and no money to get it removed. Sylvia |
