| I have worked from home. To be honest, it takes a certain type of individual to be able to do so. When I worked from home (on my computer), I discovered there were many distractions. The internet (Yorkietalk) is one distraction. Also, when I put in long hours...that also became a problem for me as I felt like a prisoner in my own home. I really felt this way when I worked weekends on a bright and sunny Saturday. |

| I work in the marketing department for a multi-disciplined A/E firm. There is just no room for growth and the calendar is pretty much the same every year! Actually, I'd love to work for the Gap (don't ask me why ???) I just don't have a clue as to how much $$$ you could really make. I have been wanting a change for some time now. I think I need to be up and about more and have more interaction with people. And I want to be closer to home... |

| I worked in retail in the past (Banana Republic - which is a Gap company). It isn't what it is cracked up to be. To be honest, the pay is lousy. My schedule was ALWAYS fluctuating. And there have been times I had to work late doing inventory, floor changes, etc. There were times when you felt great truly helping out a customer. BUT there were also a lot of frustrations dealing w/ irrate customers, thieves, etc. Companies DO NOT pay for customer service anymore. If I had to do it again, I would've done something else. It just is not worth the pay. |

| I had a feeling that RETAIL would not be all its cracked up to be! I just figured since there is a free standing Gap 5 minutes in one direction and a Gap Outlet 5 minutes in the other direction that it would be better than the HOUR + drive I have in one direction to work now! I have a Fashion Merchandising Management degree form FIT. I would have loved to work in NYC, but since my graduation, I had moved futher out on Long Island and the train commute now would be 2 hrs one way...NOT HAPPENING! I need to change. I have been at my current job for 7 yrs and it will never get better. EVERY DAY IS LIKE GROUND HOG DAY...I hate it! and now that I have Roxy and TJ, I just wish I could spend more time with them. At least to be closer and be able to come home for lunch and be home at the end of the day quick. OH WELL, I will just have to try and think of some solution. THANKS Everyone for your thoughts. |

I also did alot of Custom Brochures for Small Companies - I wrote, designed and printed all myself and for some companies Mass Mailing Ads - It was fun but it can be a pain too. There are businesses that will pay for people to mass faxing - do mailers or things like that but you have to LOVE designing on the computer and it's not steady money. Good luck - there's many businesses these days that perfer people to work out of their home and with the gas prices these days - I bet lots of people can't afford the drive to work anymore. | |

| I don't mind going to work, the people are great so I love the social aspect of it!! If I worked at home, I probably wouldn't get anything done and become one of those recluse types that never goes out or never shower!! LOL I just wish I worked somewhere that I could take my dog with me!! That would be nirvana. TLC, If you're thinking about retail, what about a nice doggie boutique?? There are a few of them around my town, and they always have their pets there with them. Long Island and New Jersey are the same difference, so I bet you could find a gig like that near you.
