Does this tick anyone else off?? I just got an e-mail from our local newstation, they send me breaking news. This is what it says NY Atty. Gen.: 73 AIG Execs Got $1M Bonuses New York's attorney general says AIG paid bonuses of $1 million or more each to 73 employees, including 11 who have left the company. I'm so sick of Americans losing jobs, houses, etc. And them taking taxpayers money and giving it to these jerks, and them in turn giving out these huge bonuses. Obama says they shouldn't be allowed to do that, yet Obama keeps bailing them out. When is this going to stop? I'm so sick of all of this going on. They get more in bonuses than what most of us have to work all our lives to make!

Yeah, that would tick me off too. Where does it end?? I know in our local paper everyday, they have a column where you can write in to complain or write in any concerns, whatever, and they answer your questions etc in the paper. One person wrote in the other day how it aggrivates them that someone can go to walmart or the grocery store and use food stamps, and then turn around and take their family of 5 to walmart to eat. I know it ticks me off when people with kids get back thse $5000 checks in earned income credit and the hubby won't try to do anything to better himself, then they're out buying toys for the hubby all the time too. All the politicians in the US need FIRED Last edited by phfgkl; 03-17-2009 at 11:17 AM.

Until our politians get some brains things will never change. It seems like common sence has left all of them. They keep taking from the middle class to give to everyone else. I think the middle class is a thing of the past. It's rich or poor now, IMO

I agree Carol, yet, the middle class can't seem to get any kind of help. Even one of our senators has said he does not like the way things are done, he said when you're already this far in debt you don't keep adding to it. He even said all politicians needed fired. At least he realizes there is a big problem.

I agree! Our governor asked the White House if he could take some of the stimulus money that SC is getting to use it to get us out of debt some, they told him NO. Well, it's funny the white house can tell him he can't use it to get us out of debt, but, yet they allow AIG to give bonuses with our money. It's too bad all the taxpayers don't get together and say NO MORE, and not pay out anymore in taxes. What are they going to do, put us all in prison?

My husbands ex-wife doesn't work. It's not like she can't... she's just too effing lazy. She has two kids (one from my husband, and another from her current husband -- who, conveniently, ALSO doesn't work) and they got thousands of dollars of an income tax refund this year. My husband's son is a sick little kid and receives money every month from the state. It goes to her since she's the primary caregiver. (Enough to pay rent on a decent place to live) Not to mention child support from my husband... Ok, she has things to take care of at home, sick kid, new kid (although she's never worked a day in the last 7 years)... but her husband doesn't work either...? Oi. Is the american dream to sit on your a** and collect as much money you can from whoever you can? It really seems like it.

I couldn't agree more! At my office, there were two of us that take care of my stores...Monday was the other girl's last day here, and now I'm stuck taking care of a job that both she and I had to constantly run over each other to get done by myself. Not that it's a big deal, but the point is, is that as those companies keep getting richer, the poor get poorer I guess....and it sucks for everyone...yes, the people that are getting laid off are not making any income, but the ones that are left are picking up the slack and not getting any benefits from it. Ok, I'm done complaining now...anyone else see where I'm coming from?

I wrote up above about the people that can't afford to buy food but, can spend $20 at McDonalds(is what I meant to say above not walmart). Well, today a lady wrote in to the paper, and she said, maybe we can afford $20 for McDonalds, but, can't afford the $200 for formula for our baby. Well, that really triggered me off, and i just wrote in a bit ago and said well, if you can't afford the $200 a month for the baby, then maybe you should be using birth control until you can afford to buy formula. I'm tired of everyone wanting everything for free, when we've had to work all our lives for everything we have

OMGosh! I cannot believe she would say that! Birth control is FREE at any health department...if she can't provide for it, she shouldn't have had it! Besides that, if she can spend $20 at Mcdonals for one meal, she could spend $20 in a grocery store and eat for at least 2 days!

I'm not sure it's that Archie...they 'have' the brains because they're smart enough to figure out all of this stuff to screw the middle class and make us pay for everything. They need to have a sudden, long lasting attack of conscience and morals in order to change things! Politicians and CEO's are so far out of touch with real people and the middle class way of life that they will never understand unless they walk a mile in those shoes.
