| Thoughts on jobs??? MY GOD i need a job- so bad. They still are not hiring for the supply list here so I can't apply for long term placement jobs or summer school with the school board. I have applied for a job in adult education and i have applied to mark EQAO tests (standardized English tests that every grade 10 student must take to graduate) in April but i haven't hear back. Ok so i want a job that is Education related = because i like it and because it's great to have on my resume. I do NOT want to work at a summer camp. Any other idea of what I CAN DO??? I am trying to look places up but I can't seem to think of where to look..... |

| What about a tutoring/learning center such as Sylvan's (if you have them there).

| I hope you will find something soon. I am in college now for Elem Education and they are laying off teachers like crazy around here. I still have a while left to go but this has really freaked me out. I went to my counselor today thinking of switching to a Business Administration major. I hate the thought of going to school so many years & not being able to find a job after spending all that time/money. I don't know what to do! |

| For now - I would take any job... even if it's retail or waitress... it's still money. You can still quietly look for a job you want.

| If you love working one-on-one, why not consider offering private tutoring? It could be for kids - or for adults who, say, might want to brush up on numeracy / literacy skills>

| You could give your name to the local school system and tell them that you are offering private tutoring. That is another way to advertise. (of course, it would help if you know some of the teachers already!)

| What is your Major. I think private tutoring is a great idea. I have a friend who works for DISD and they had a layoff about 600 teachers lost jobs. Lots of recruiters from Las Vegas trying to relocate these teachers there. They have a shortage....Just a thought. |

| What about those SAT prep study courses. The focus now is to score HIGH. Maybe you could word your ad with the SAT English Prep. Now is a good time because parents are looking for courses during the summer. I know next year when my youngest goes back to school she will be taking PSAT. So I am looking for someone to help coach her....Those prep courses are sky high......Good Luck to you...Lissette |
