Dell Laptop Deals If you do decide remember all these companies have great coupons and each day they are getting better and better. Just google Dell (or whatever company coupons) and you can see what they offer. I'd find what you want first and not let the coupon decide what you want. I think you pretty much get what you pay for but after saying that many of these co's are discounting quite abit because of the economy.

| most of the mini laptops are the same... they all run windows xp and usually have 1g of memory. the only main difference would be the harddrive size and thats where the price difference is as well. the HP mini is super cute.. i'd only use it though for like browsing the internet. it would run slow if you tried to load a lot of programs on it seeing as how it only can have 1g of memory.

| I sent the Pink Acer back to QVC after the fan started to grind when I would start it up. I found the Acer at WAlMart for 298 . Checked SAm's Club and found the Dell mini 9 for 225. After talking to my SIL after a concern about the Dell having only 8G he thought that it would be ok for me since I do music, games and pictures on the desktop and don't need the mini for file storage, just for checking out the net when I'm out of town. Also, the Dell has solid state drive and is more efficient, he said. I can get pink!

| They have some nice mini's at Best Buy for around $350. I told hubby I wanted one for my b'day next month. It depends on what you personally want/ need a computer for as to if it is a good fit for you... Hubby is a computer guru (degreed and a hobby) and after looking at the specs, said it is the perfect low cost alternative to the more expensive laptops for those of us who use them to go online, check email and the wonderful YT forums. Not to mention they are the perfect size to fit into a reg. sized handbag. If I want to do more later on, I'll just hook up my external drive.

| Right now my fiance and I have a new 24" iMac desktop computer. The screen is HUGE! My HP laptop which was just over a year old crapped out on me really bad (of course, right after warranty is up) so we decided to buy the Acer Aspire One in Black. I wanted pink, but we have to share, so we got back. I ordered a cool skin for it off of iStyles | Premium Fashion Accessories for iPhone, iPod, PSP, Nintendo, Blackberry, Treo, Gaming Consoles and more it's not in yet, so I can't comment on that. Anyway, overall for the price it's a wonderful laptop! As for not having a CD drive, now you can put anything onto a USB thumb drive, or even an SD card. This laptop has 2 sd slots! So i wouldn't let that make your decision for you! Another thing, if you want to upgrade the memory/RAM from 1GB, it's really simple. They have the square at the bottom cut out and screwed on, so you can just take it out and place the new ram in. You can always get a tech to do it as well, but it's always cheaper to do it yourself, and honestly, so so simple my grandma could do it! (Just a note, I bought 2GB of ram for my old crappy HP at future shop for $30 CAD, but didn't get to put it in because it quit working) The hard drive space is amazing, my old HP laptop only had 80 GB and I still had a little less than half to fill and I download a lot of music and movies, and have a lot of files. The 160 GB is perfect, more than what I need for sure! The keyboard takes some getting used to, but in a few hours you'll be fine! I bought mine for $399 Canadian, they are only $299 US on amazon and walmart right now. For the price, you can't go wrong. You can take this thing anywhere! Plus, it's a great conversation piece right now! Hope this helps you! PS - Stay away from HP, I have had problems with both of my HP laptops in the past! The first warranty work I had done on it was to fix the fried motherboard. Once that was fixed, to keep it from overheating, they cranked the fan. The fan quit working and that's why it quit this time, just after warranty ended. Clever them, hey! Jerks! Some may be good, but do your research and check reviews! |

How do you like the iMac vs. a pc? I really think I want to get an iMac after hearing a friend talk about hers and looking at them at Best Buy.

what??!, well the mac doesn't get those! never any driver errors and such either! ![]() We have the largest screen (24") and it is awesome! We sometimes even watch movies on it, even though we have a larger television! It is so beautiful, looks a lot nicer than a PC screen! I love the aluminum look! Plus, with aluminum, it also makes it a lot more environmentally friendly, which is a definite plus! I'm not into the photo editing and music making, which macs are mostly used for, but I find it a lot better than a PC. There are tons of applications that are really cool to fool around with if you have the time. And don't worry about finding programs that you use that are compatible! They are there! It will last you a very long time also, you won't have to buy a new computer for a while! It is expensive up front, but I think it's definitely worth it! | |

| We have a 25" monitor on our pc in the bedroom and I love it...I rarely watch our dinky 20" tv anymore...LOL. I told hubby I want an iMac...he and our boys have pretty much taken over every other pc in our house for gaming so I would love to have my own and it sounds like the iMac would be great for me. You've sold me! I am not good at spending that kind of money...on myself especially, so now I have to convince myself to let go of the $$.
