We have natural gas. I don't know if or how it will affect us. Hopefully it won't too bad.

| ![]() It was $2.39 this a.m. I filled up at 2:30 p.m. at 2.69. On my way back thru at 3:00 it was $2.89!! I don't know enough about the oil situation to argue effectively for either side; however, if higher gas prices are the only local effect of Katrina, I will gladly pay and be thankful that we were out of harms way. It's *definitely* going to make me decrease my driving and consolidate trips to town. |

Me too. Even though where we live everywhere I need to go is within a 5 mile radius so, it's not too bad.

| ![]() It was 2.50 then 3hours later it was up to 2.71, yesterday i got some at walmart for 2.61 (w/ the 5 cent discount for using gas card) before it went up further for the labor day weekend. I wish i could go to town less, it would really help.. alot. Before we moved we were 3 miles from town so wasn't really a big deal to go. Now we live like 13 miles (one way). And i have to go everyday for school or work. Sometimes even twice. it really hurts the wallet! But my mom was nice enough to give me a $100 gas card for a graduation present. So she just gave it to me so i would wait for school to start to use it.

| ![]() It really hurts that the pocketbook I live almost 40 miles for work! Gotta work to have health insurance, have a house to live in, food on the table and the basics to live on. I need to sell my jeep and buy a small beater car that gets 40 miles per gallon. Then pray to God I never get in an accident or hit a dear because I wouldn't have to worry about gas prices then I would be at the pearly gates!

| ![]() I drove past the gas station on my way to work yesterday at 8:30 and had a heart attack because it was $2.99/gallon. Last night at 5, I drove home and it was $3.29/gallon! I'm in shock. This is one of the more expensive gas stations, but it wasn't much cheaper than $3.19 in my travels yesterday. |

| ![]() For the people in California: http://kcal9.com/california/CA--GasP...rces_news_html "California attorney general to probe possible gas-price gouging State Attorney General Bill Lockyer on Friday launched a probe into possible price gouging by gas and oil companies following Hurricane Katrina. ... The investigation will examine whether oil companies or retailers violated antitrust or unfair business practice laws. It also will examine whether they broke a state law that bars retailers from raising prices more than 10 percent during government-declared emergencies. ... Lockyer questioned whether the storm could justify higher prices in California because he said the state receives little or no refined gasoline from the Gulf region and no crude oil from there." This certainly sounds interesting! |

| ![]() Just before the hurricane, I was paying nearly $2.85 for premium. So give or take, this 10% limitation would still make my gas prices jump $.30! That is still a lot...but a lot better than paying nearly $4! |
