Woman kidnapped at gunpoint from Pearland shopping center | TOP STORIES | KHOU.com | News for Houston, Texas

Did anyone watch some news show the other night, like dateline or 20/20 or something, where there was a string of murders and attempted murder and abduction at a mall in FL? They all involved black SUV's. I don't think they caught that guy. I wonder if this is the same guy?

That is so scary! I go to our mall all the time. I am going to be extra careful from now on

OMG! I hope they find her and she is still ok, since they found the car and no sign of blood, maybe she got away.

How scary is this!!!! I remember that story on 20/20 or Dateline...I don't think they ever found the guy! Kay

That is very scary.

I too remember seeing something about that on one of the News shows on TV.

I never go anywhere by myself mostly because of my anxiety but some of it is that its just not safe anymore and thats so sad.

I rarely go anywhere by myself, but if I have to I bring my stun gun in homes that it would help me out.

The one in FL is a mall I used to shop at all of the time. It's so scary and makes me worry about my friends down there. It's really bizarre.

OMG, really scary.

I know she was scared, but why on earth did her co-worker drive around for an HOUR before calling 911? I'm sure she wasn't thinking straight, but that could've made a huge difference.

Exactly what I was going to say. Why didn't she just drive straight to the police station. If the lady who was abducted got a lot of life insurance money from her husbands death, maybe her co-worker "knew" about it? Red flag huh? Perfect timing huh?. That poor lady. I hope she's found alive. The one thing that the police is always telling people is, NEVER get into a car with a stranger, because your chances of surviving are slim if you do. You should scream at the top of your lungs, & fight like crazy.

This brings back memories of Dru Sjoden...she was a coed here in ND and was abducted walking to her car from a mall...in broad daylight. She was on the phone with her boyfriend at the time and he heard her say something like, "Oh God, no!" Then the phone went dead. Her abductor had a knife. It was 5 or more months before her body was found, because she had been buried under snow all that time. The dirtbag that did this to her was a repeat sex offender and when he was up for parole, even though the parole board was warned he would do it again, and each time it gets worse...but they voted to let him out anyway. He got the death sentence, which he so deserves...cept he will have a much easier death than poor Dru. It was found that besides the sex crimes, he also tortured her...and if memory serves me correctly, she wasn't dead when he left her in that ditch. It was winter and there was a lot of snow that year. It was through all that that I learned to never get in a car with an abductor. It would be better to get shot or stabbed in a parking lot as there would be help, whereas there is no help once they are in that vehicle. Even if one got killed in the parking lot, it would be better than whatever this creep has in store for them. I do hope and pray this girl is safe, but my gut feeling tells me it isn't going to be good news.
