				   | I'd not been keeping up with Katrina until a friend who was going to vacation in Destin was called today and told not to come, and that a refund was forthcoming. Looks like it might be really, really bad. Stay safe, panhandle folks! |

				   | Well, my husband just informed me that we're in the cone of uncertainty. Looks like we'll be making reservations to evacuate just in case we need to leave. UGHHHHHHHHH

				   | We've made reservations in Ruston, LA for Sunday through Wednesday in the event we feel the need to leave. I don't think the storm will turn before Sunday though.

				   | Ok guys -- we're right in the middle of the anticipated path now -- looks like we'll be heading to north Louisiana by Sunday morning if not Saturday night just to beat the traffic. Is anyone in the north Louisiana area that maybe we could do a meet? Lisa

				   | I guess its pretty much assured that we're going to be in for some rough weather! Here's the projected path and I've indicated approximately where I'm located on the map. Lisa

				   | Lisa, Wow, you're close! Isn't that at least the better side of the eye to be on? Funny story... my sister interviewed for her job in FL last year and they told her the Gulf Coast never gets hurricanes. She's been down there just over a year and this will be the third one in the Gulf. She's in Pensacola, so she won't feel much of this one, but still- never say never, I guess!I hope you and your family stay safe. That would be great if you could do a meet-up while you're evacuated. At least that would be something to look forward to. |

				   | Our friends in the Miami area really got hit a lot harder than they thought they would. Now all of us on the west coast are hoping it passes us by. |

				   | The hurricane force winds are currently stretching 40 miles from the center. That area will widen before landfall. We'll be in the thick of it all since we'll be so close to the eye. Typically, the better side is the western side with most of the rain and tornadoes to the east.

				   | Best of luck to Carter's Mom and any one else in its path. My dad has a home in Key West and just reported to me that their electricity has been out since yesterday, but the rain was so heavy could not get outside until today to hook up the generator. They have had 28 inches of rain so far and some winds 30 mph for 1 whole day. Everything is okay and not much damage, which is good but did surprise them all with its change in path and going so far south than expected. Keep safe all and don't try to do anything foolish. Best Wishes, Tina P.S. Funny thing is that my full name is Katrina. Sorry and feels odd to see my name in print with this hurricane. |
