| Help! Home Pregnancy Test Result Question My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for almost a year now and I am 6 days past when I was supposed to get my period. I took an E.P.T home pregnancy test on Thursday night and got a very very faint line saying I was pregnant. I retested this morning when I woke up and go the same results. Could this mean that I am pregnant? I almost don't believe it because the line was very faint. Did anyone else ever experience this? I am going to buy another test tonight I did a lot of research about test so I am going to get what I consider a better test. I am not on any medications that would effect the results either. Any information at this point would be helpful in easing my mind.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Those tests read the hormone level found in your urine...the further along you are...the higher the amount of the hormone. You may very well be pregnant. Go to the doctor...for the price of another home test...you can have a blood test and know proof positive. No pun intended. LOL

| I would say...welcome to mommyhood If the test showed the faint line within the time limit allowed I say its a def positive! now if you did not see a line and looked at the test like an hour later and saw a line then I'd think it was a evap line and not a positive test. with my son the line was soooo light that I had to hold it outside the window to see it lol

| The same thing happened to me with my second child. The line was so faint it was barely visible, so I called the info tel. number on the box and the operator told me that "a positive is a positive"! I went to the dox and he said the same thing-sure enough 8 month later Kaitlyn was born A good tip if you are gonna retest anyway is to test first thing in the morning (1st time you go) and catch the urine in a container "mid-stream" if you know what I mean. Since the hormone gets stronger everyday you'll probably get a darker line anyway. Also there is a test that will tell you roughly how far along you are too (at least you can buy it here in the UK-I'm assuming you have there too). (Oh by the way-CONGRATS)

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Those tests are super accurate. Like Deb said, a doc can confirm it. But I'm pretty much ready to say CONGRATS over here!

| I agree with everyone else. When I was pregnant with my daughter the line was so, so, SO faint, but that's all it took. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you- can't wait to say congratulations!

| The best thing to do, is go to your doctor and get a blood test done. You probably are pregnant. I had the same results once. It was very faint and I took a million tests. I was pregnant, but mine didn't fair so well, if you know what I mean. I don't think that had any thing to do with the faint results though, I just think it was an act of nature.

| When I found out I was pregnant with the Laci bug one test (EPT) said that I was pregnant in a very bold line but the line that says if it worked right was very faint...then on the other test it was opposite with the lines...it says in the instructions that one line may be fainter than the other .....Welcome to motherhood....

| I hope you guys are right because I am really excited yet I am really trying to hold it in so that I am not let down. I am going to take another one within the next day or so and if I get the same results I am making a doctors appointment on monday to have a blood one done. I never thought the day was going to come.

| From what I understand a faint line is a faint detection of the hormone. If it is negative, it is very clear, aka, if you weren't pregnant, there would be no traces of the hormone to make that line show up at all. Hope you are, for your sake! Let us know when you find out!

| I just got done with this with my daughter. Well, 8 mos ago anyway, as she's being induced on the 28th of this week. Hers also showed a very faint line, but, she was pg. give it a few days. You can get the tests at dollar tree for $1 and they are just as accurate as the other ones. Are you hardly ever late?? Will keep fingers and toes crossed. My guess is that in 8 1/2 mos. you will be having a new little one to care for |
