...though if I had overheard it I probably would've put it on overheardinnewyork.com, cause it's pretty funny. =P

but nah, that's not stupid! One time I was in the city...and we were kind of lost (this was a few years ago) and we asked a cop for directions...and he sent us one way...and what we were looking for wasnt there. so we asked some random guy on the street who directed us in the right direction. if one of the COPS doesn't know where we're going, then I get concerned lol.

That's funny but I understand those moments. I was giving someone directions to a restaurant once and they asked do we turn east or west and for a moment I just had no idea. Total deer in headlights moment. To make it worse she tried to make it easy for me and asked in an 'I'm talking to a 3 year old' kind of way, do we turn toward 95 or toward the beach? When you live near an ocean these things are easy and should be second nature. So embarrassing but worst case we gave someone a laugh (even if it was at our expense.).
