| Anyone double jointed? I know I am double jointed in my thumb, fingers, shoulder and wrist. However, I have and have had for all my life, terrible pain in my hips and legs and recently my shoulder. I always described it as growing pains that never went away. As a child my growing pains were so horrible in my legs that i had to crawl up the stairs some nights to get into bed. I just read an article today online about double jointed joints causing this type of pain - sometimes into adulthood. Does anyone have this similar pain? It is really come and go and there doens't *seem* to be any rhyme or reason to when I ache. |

| I don't know if this has anything to do with it but my hips and legs sometimes ache when they're cold. Like a dull ache that is just soooo uncomfortable that it's down right painful. I don't think I'm double jointed in my hips or legs though.

| Like you, I'm double jointed in my thumbs, fingers and wrists(well, I was until I got old) and I get horrible pains in my joints. I just attributed it to arthritus and age. And the fact that my 2 jobs keep me on my feet on concrete for up to 15 hrs a day, is why I figured my ankles never stop aching. I never dreamed d-j's would cause all this pain. That's very interesting.

| I am not double jointed in my hands. However, I have always been incredibly flexible, without effort. I am not a gymnast by any means, but have the flexibility of one. I have a lot of autoimmune issues such as lupus, fibromyalgia, and also an exceptionally high rheumatoid factor and positive ANA. I get bad hip pains. That is about the only joint on my body that gets pain (thank God). I am exceptionally blessed that I am basically asymptomatic without meds or treatment of any sort.
