It's so wonderful getting to know a bit about everyone! Sometimes these forums can be a bit impersonal, so it's nice to put a story behind everyone's name!

I'm 45 and very happily married for almost 17 years to the gentlest, kindest man I've ever met..he's 52 and a heavy equipment mechanic. I was born and grew up in Nova Scotia but moved here in 1986 supposedly for 6 months to set up the accounting system for the airline that I worked for. That was 20 years ago now!!

I was accounting supervisor and reservations supervisor for this airline and chose to stay in this city after meeting hubby We got married on holiday in N.S. and it's been the best thing I've ever done. We have two kids....Kaitlyn, 16 and Colin, 13. They're such great kids...we're very lucky.

I decided to be a stay at home mom when my kids came along, but started back to school in the mid 90's to get my Graphic Art and Design Degree. I had to quit school, though, after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I'm now at home, painting and drawing and crafting when my body lets me, but sometimes just trying to get through each day with this body of mine is enough. Hubby takes wonderful care of me, though, and I'm lucky to have wonderful doctors who want to make sure I have good quality of life.

Topher came into our lives in February after we lost our sweet terrier mix, Nighean, in January. I hope to have another yorkie in our lives within the next couple of years.

Wow, this kinda confused me at first when I first saw fasteddie's post and he said he created this site a couple months ago..... Then I noticed the 2004 at the top...This thread was probly burried for a long time...

-Well, My name is Crystal Sanders and I 24 yrs. old. I got married last year in Sept. to my husband Stephen. We are owned by our Yorkie Lucy, Miniature Schnauzer Tank and Great Dane Annabelle.
-I work at an electrical company in the office doing all the boring payroll, A/P, A/R, and all that other boring crap. My husband works at the same company but he's an electrician that works out in the field.
-I enjoy fishing, traveling (don't do much of it though b/c were broke..LOL), golf, bowling and playing with all of our pups.

I really don't know what else to write.... Here's a couple fun things I did when I was younger that you may get a kick out of..... Life was fun when I had no responsibilities or BILLS>>>

- When I was 15 yrs. (didn't have my drivers license) old I got in some trouble at the school that I was going to so my mom made me switch schools.... To get payback I started hanging out with this psyco girl... Well, we decide to run away and go to her uncles house in Virginia and stay with him. (little did I know she was a big Liar) So one night I creeped downstairs and took my mom's keys to her car and went back upstairs and jumped off my roof out my window (about breaking my ankle). Drove to my friends house and picked her and two other friends up and headed to Virginia. We drove about 3 hrs. and she suddenly forgot the exit her uncle lived off of and forgot his phone number..... So we drove back home and dropped off our friends and headed to my grandparents beach house... Well, my grandparents go a phone call the next day saying there was a car in there driveway and someone in the house should they call the police...... Well, all in all my mom and stepdad drove down and picked us up and I had a very very long ride home....
- I'll make this one shorter... When I was 17 my best friend and I decided that we didn't want to go to schoold that day and we wanted to go and visit our friends that had moved away to TEXAS (we live in North Carolina)>.... So we waited for Lindsey's (my best friend) parent to leave and we jumped in the car and headed on our way to TEXAS. We were in an 89 Ford Topaz with like 80,000 miles and had less than $100.00 between us. We stopped by the store and got some bread, mayo, sandwich meat and some drinks that we put in a cooler. We drove like 17 or 18 hrs. and we were to young to get a hotel so we pulled in a truck stop and selpt (I know... not very smart for two little blonde hair blue eyed girls to do) and then drove the rest of the way after a few hours of sleep... We made our way by just and address and an atlas all the way to our friends door step. You should have seen Megan's face when she opened the door and we were standing there....Lindsey's dad ended up flying there later that week and picking us up and drove us back home... They didn't trust us to drive back ourselves.....

That by far was the most fun I have ever had.... I don't llike that we put our parents through the worry but I don't regret it.....

Crystal

Wow what a fun thread! I will tell you a bit about me.
My name is Annette and I am 20yrs old (21 in november), I live with my fiancee Shaun. I have known him for 7 years as his brother dated my best friend. We eventually got together when i broke up with my boyfriend. We have been together 5 years and got engaged xmas 2004.

I grew up in Dorset, England. I had a happy child hood, my dad owned a garage and my mum worked in a care home. I have 2 brothers Stephen and Andrew and 2 sisters Diana and Caroline. I have 14 nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.I grew up around yorkies, my mum has had them since she was young. I am/was a professional dancer, winning the all england championship 4 times and passing with honours in over 100 exams.(i danced from the age of 3).

I did ballet, tap, jazz and disco and when I left school I had a promising career as a dancer. I was accepted into dance school and was going to start september 2002.Then disaster struck......
I was travelling into town with a friend, and we had a very bad car accident (i dont want to go into details). I was left bed bound and house-bound from then until early this year.(I am getting better) Needless to say I will never be able to dance again

But on a better note my mum got me my very own yorkie Duke in 2004, as I was so lonely stuck at home all the time. As you know they are so addictive and I now have 5 of the little babies

They really helped me through the tough times and i totally adore them! I work from home and im about to embark in a college course in animal care, as my health is getting better i hope to have a career as an RSPCA office,.or a vetenary assistant.
I enjoy going out to clubs with my friends, shopping, romantic meals with shaun and of course hanging with my 5 babies.

Hello everyone...I agree...this is an awesome site.

I will be 40 in August but don't feel that old. I have two children Kelsey who is 12 and was into Gymnastics for 8 years and did well but the expense was too great plus the demands on her life was huge so we convinced her to give it up and now because of the gymnastics she is excelling in Diving. Although she can't compete until she is in High School she is in training with the high school team and is doing very well. Her coach said today that she will be the top in the state when she gets older if she sticks with it. I'm sure she will she loves it My son Trevor is 10 and the typical boy....he loves baseball and football and basketball. He keeps us running too. Dad is the coach for everything. I've been married to a wonderful man for 16 years (come June 30th)

I am a substitute teacher for the Green Bay schools here. I do anything from working as a secretary...to a Librarian....to working with special needs children. Mostly the latter. My husband is a Labortory Director for one of the hospitals here in Green Bay.

My hobbies include spending quality time with my family, reading and lots of camping. In fact I met my husband on a camping trip.

When my husband and I got married we purchased our first family member...a s**tzu/poodle mix. her name was Tesla and she was with us for 13.5 years. Then she developed congential heart failure and eventually she got a fast growing cancer so we had to put her down....she is still with us...we had her cremated and she now sits in the living room right next to her picture. I went crazy after she died. She was my life. I was a stay at home mom at the time and really didn't know what to do with my time as my children were in school all day. I would sit home all day and cry....cry...cry. So the only thing i could do was put the focus on finding a new pet. I always new the next pet I would own was a Yorkie so I called all over the state trying to find the right pet....evetually one call led to another and another that finally led me to our first Yorkie....Zoe....and now we also have Lizzy..Zoe's daughter....who is special needs...she has a cleft pallate and Hair lip....but is doing great...Zoe is 3.6 years and Lizzy is 9 mo.

I love reading about everyone...keep them coming

well, I wasn't gonna post anything here as my life is not as exciting as everyone elses. I am Linda and I met hubby James when I was 17. I'm 62 now, he is 64. He is an excellent husband and father. We had a son and a daughter. My daughter was born with a kinda rare heart disease. She had 4 open heart surgeries between 21 months and 12 years old. Needless to say, we lost her in 88 to this. she died in my arms in her bed. She was 21 and engaged. You would never know she had anything wrong with her unless you were around her all the time and actually knew it. She was a very happy, laughing person with the best personality of anyone I've ever seen. She was engaged to a very nice guy. She is forever on my mind still.
Our son is 42 and married to a beautiful lady who is 42 also. He has 1 daughter who is now 20 and nobody thought they would ever have anymore as it just never happened until 2000. Suddenly his wife got pregnant and now they have a son who is 6. So 14 years difference is like raising two families. His daughter works and goes to college now and his son is going into first grade this year. My son owns a generator company here. Their doing great and I'm so happy for my son and his family.
Another thing, we got married on Friday 13th. LOL, July 1962, and will soon be married 44 years.
We've had puppies before but not a lot that we kept long except for a pekingese, whom we all loved but he got dognapped couple times and we never got him back the 2nd time.
Hubby nor I have ever been big dog people till we go him. So he didnt want me to get a dog, because he really don't like them in the house. So I just did the same thing I did with the pekingese. When he was at work I went out and bought it and he fell in love with it and March 15, this year I went out and bought Kizzy. She is now almost 5 months, and she is our baby. even his too. LOL
I was in accounting until the company I worked for sold out 4 yrs ago so I just retired and now i'm at home a most of the time alone till hubby gets in at night and on weekends. I did payroll, corp tax, etc, ya know what it consist of so I wont go into detail. So Kizzy has really really been good for me. She is really spoiled for sure but she does mind me pretty good for the most part. We are very proud of her.
Hubby is a generator tech and left a job he had worked at for 30 yrs to work for my son. He drives 100 miles a day so he is gone a long time.
Anyway, now you know a bit about us, probably told to much till its boring.
I've played guitar since I was 5 yrs old and I always loved it but when I was working I had a long drive too and I didnt have much time for it and since I've retired I just havent played a lots the last couple of yearts. I also play piano. All by ear. I cant read music.
I came from a family of 9. now I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters and me still living. I live on a small gravel road now and we have 9 acres but only 4 miles out of town, so its convenient yet we're out. both of my sisters live on this road also. I have one brother who travels with his wife and yorkie, and one brother in Mn. So I was use to a big family and ended up with a small one for myself. But life is like a box of chocolate as they say. You never know what you're gonna get.
I am a family loving person and love to have fun and I enjoy being on yt and it seems like a great bunch of people here.
I'm adding a link to my web page about my daughter if anyone would care to see it. Its not very long, only one page. So if you go see it please sign my guest book. There is also another page with it I made for my 3 brothers, in honor of our military and its only one page also.
Thanks for giving all the oportunity to share some of our family and I've enjoyed reading others.
I'm not sure how to get the web page link in here so I'll just put the address in and you can copy and paste it if you like.

I am very uninteresting as compare to some of you all, unless you are deep into soap operas. I will keep it to the short version.
After 3 failed marriages, I am living with my second ex-husband. I guess we were meant to be. He is a retired manufacturing plant manager. I am a retired cosmetologist / instructor. Too much hard work has brought my hands to give up the profession. I am 53 yrs old and feel every year of it. Hot flashes and weight gain have taken a toll on me the past few years. I have 2 grown children. son (34) near Chicago,Ill. Daughter (31) near Lima,Ohio. one grandson and 6 step grandchildren (all in Ohio). I moved south to join my husband after placing my mother in a nursing home. She was stricken with alzheimers disease. My siblings and I did our best to take care of her in her own home. I traveled 5 hrs one way every weekuntil I finially tired outand agreed to place her in an alzheimers unit. She lasted almost 3 yrs before she passed.
With children gone & mother gone it left me empty.
My husband and I were in persuit of the perfect pet for us. We were visiting my son while he was on duty with the air guards in Peoria, whenwe checked the paper for any listings of yorkies. That is when we found our first baby. He was 2 yrs old and looked like he needed more care than he was getting. I couldn't resist. Buckeye and I became very very close. My husband then realized if he was to have any chance of getting a yorkie on his lap he would have to get a second one. While visiting with family in Columbus, Ohio we again went to the newspaper and found a puppy. She was only 8 wks old. What a terror she was! At first I thought we had made a horrible mistake in getting a puppy. I was too old to go through this. I could not keep up. But as time passed and with the help of this forum she got better. She has turned one year old recently and I can't remember when she wasn't here. I love her very much. When she looks at me with love in her eyes I can't resist. Everything else is forgiven.
My hobbies are crochet, crafts, golf and I guess about anything. I have so many interest. I am kind of like the person who has been there , done that and know just enought about the subject to be annoying. I am a very honest and nice person. Of course that is just my opinion.
Denise!! You absolutely are an honest & nice person! I think you all should load up your motorhome and take a well-deserved trip to Grand Junction, CO!!!

Thanks fasteddie for the site! I stumbled upon it about a month ago & love it!

I'm Christie. I was born and raised in Texas, though I've only lived in the Dallas metroplex for about 2 1/2 years. I'm 27, single, and live alone...it's just Sadie and I!! I have two jobs, really. My full time job is as a customer service manager. I've also started up a second job, which is as a consultant for a company called Arbonne International. We've got wonderful skin care products as well as health products and makeup. I'm really excited about it as it presents a wayto make some extra money adn get to know people in the process. I've been wanting a second job now for a while because I'm tired of apartment life & want to make some extra money to help save for a house (that's hard to do with a single income!) But I didn't want a job where I had set hours somewhere. Somehow I didn't think that would be fair to Sadie...I'm away from her enough as it is. So I was introduced to Arbonne, I signed up, and haven't looked back! I'd love to talk to anyone who is interested about it...PM me!

Sadie is my first Yorkie. I grew up with a Cocker Spaniel. We had to have her put to sleep and immediately got another Cocker. This one died at 13 weeks old from Parvo. Then we decided to go with a smaller breed dog that would live inside. We got our dachshund (Lizzie). She was a great dog...my parents just had to have her put to sleep a couple of months ago. She was almost thirteen. Anyway, when I moved away from my parents (they live 3 hours away), I was lonely and wanted a pet. My brother wanted to get me a cat (very sweet of him but I"m not a cat person). I thanked him but told him that I really wanted to wait until I could afford a dog. For some reason I decided that I wanted a Yorkie. I didn't know much about the breed except that I thought they were adorable!! I wanted something girly. And I really wanted a small dog (as I am very small myself). I guess I mentioned it to my mom because the first weekend in December 2004 they showed up on my doorstep with this tiny 8 week old beauty! Needless to say I was completely shocked and so excited. She was my Christmas present that year. Best present I ever got. She's everything I wanted (well...except girly...we're working on that, though). They got her at a good time for me because my mom had just been diagnosed with breast cancer and I was having a hard time with that, so Sadie helped me thru it.

So that's pretty much me!!

By the way, I'm glad someone dug up this thread...it's fun getting to know everyone. I know a lot of people on here know each other, but I'm new & don't know anyone yet.
