| Question after an interview I had a job interview this morning. It went well, I was really comfortable during the interview, and I think the two people who interviewed me liked me too. They won't give me an answer until the beginning of next year, however, they asked me to sign a paper so that they can run a background check on me. I'm sure that if they are going to hire you they are going to run a background check on you , but if they are not, do they still run background checks? Just curious...

| I would think that they are really considering you for the job....they would not run a back ground check on everyone they interviewed....my place of business only runs a back ground check on you if they are seriously interested in hiring you.... Good luck!

That is what I thought because doesn't it cost them money to run a background check? If so, I wouldn't think they would want to spend money on someone they are not going to hire, but I don't want to get my hopes up either. I'll just have to wait I guess...

| If it's through a company, it sounds promising. But, if it's through a temp company, then they run background checks on everyone. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get the job |

| They will have everyone who they interview sign a release for a background check, but it doesn't mean they will actually run it. Good luck. Sounds like you really want the job and that's a good thing.

| My current job....... The initial resumes taken for the 11 positions were 3,000. Out of that, 300 were tested and 150 were invited for a second set of interviews. After I made it through the 2nd set of interviews at the chemical plant I work at.....I was asked to sign a release for a background check. The background check took about a week. I was told it included criminal history, past employment as well as credit history. Three weeks later 11 people were called for physicals and drug screening. I'm glad I made it through. Hope this helps. Good luck.
