I feel like i don't have any girlfriends

Awwww, I missed this thread somehow.

When I was in college I had a group of girlfriends, we would go shopping every weekend and go out three or so nights a week. It was a blast while it lasted.. but then I grew up and guess where they are now? Well, I couldn't tell you They were never true, lasting friendships, just going out buddies, if you know what I mean.

I was told not too long ago that if you can count a few TRUE friends on one hand you are doing pretty good. The more you think about it, I think that's true. You sound much more mature than others your age, maybe you need some friends that are a bit more mature as well?

How was hanging with your best friend? It's always good fun to do that! I haven't seen one of my VERY good friends for a while now but every time we get together it's as if we never were apart, right away we start laughing together, its so funny. I can relate with you about going out. When i was 15 i used to go out A LOT more, its so weird cause i was underage but i def went out a lot and now that im older i dont go out as much.

Yep, it's so hard to find trustworthy friends. I mean it's pretty easy to find friends to hang out with every so often, but you can't really trust them like that. A lot of them turn out to be diff. then you thought they were. I spend all my time with my bf too, i am guilty of that lol He is my best friend but i would take a night out to go hang out with girlfriends and he wouldn't mind. But what bugs me is a friend of mine can't even do that, it's like if she's conjoined at the hip with her bf. He won't let her go out or she won't let him..i dunno but its annoying.

I married at 19, only 5 months after hs graduation. My best friend had a baby a month after my wedding. My other "best" friend unknowingly called my grandfather an inappropriate name at my wedding and I haven't talked to her since. I just can't risk losing that to parties and stuff... not only that, it just never was that fun to me anyways. I have a good group of friend now. We are all between 22-24 years of age. But they are the ones that stuck around through the years so I have weeded out the unworthy! In fact, 3 of my 4 good girlfriends I have known since I was 4 or younger! So...that is how I know that they are going to last! Then the other one is actually a friend I met through one of my childhood friends and we click so well...like we are the same person split in two!

I sometimes feel like some of them aren't as invested in our friendship anymore...but when I really think about it I realize it is because we have different schedules. They work evenings and weekends and I work a full work week and have evenings and weekends off.

I am lucky to have a good group, but we can't always get together at the same time anymore because of work/school schedules and boyfriends. I generally see them one on one now. Things change when you start adding other things to your plate!

I hope you find some good girlfriends to hang out with. It really is a nice thing to have. Woman are great!!!

Yes they are great. It's fun to have a nice chat with all of them. A lot of my friend's i've known since i was very young but along the yrs some of them changed a lot of moved. One of them went to my h.s. but started hanging out with the wrong ppl and dropped out freshman yr and had a baby. She is not the same person, but ive seen her once or twice and now she is trying to raise her kid and learning the hard way. My other friend moved to Florida in 6th grade but now her mom lives here again and she is here for a while so i am soo happy and plan to hang out. We have always been good friends, shes a really great friend. Some other friends have kinda drifted, as they've gone to diff. schools, doing diff. things but i still see them sometimes. But i dont have a close group where we all know each other and we can all go out.

You dont sound whiney to me at all..... if you are then i am LOL im in the same situation. I moved to Delaware about two years ago and i dont have any friends i hang out with. I so need a girls night out and stuff. How far are you from Delaware? Maybe one day we can meet up and hang out..... with out without the furbabies...LOL I would love to meet people and have a girls night out every once and awhile as well. I completely understand where you are coming from.

More than likely I'll be going... depends on finances and all that fun stuff.... BUT I'm actually only about 45 minutes away from Alexandria.
