| I need to vent.. I hate being sick! I have bad asthma and allergies and the common cold always turns complicated because of that for me. I've been in school just over a month now and I've already missed 2 days in each of my classes because of this and I am so frustrated. What's worse is their attendance policies are all 2-3 classes missed per semester and I'm freaked out that I'm going to be in trouble, even though my grades are all really good! So I have 2.5 more months of school and only 1 more class that I can potentially miss and with the way this season is setting up with me being sick all the time, I'm almost positive I'll go over that . I don't go to the dr every time I'm sick because really all they can do is tell me to ride it out or sometimes give me antibiotics if needed, but I guess I am not one of those people that can just push through the day when my lungs are burning and I'm wheezy and blah. Anyhow, thank you for listening you all -- I am just right now and sad because I should be in class |

| Sorry to read you are sick and frustrated, with good reason. I sure hope you get to feeling good real soon.

| I'm sorry you're sick. I think that with medical issues like you have, you could get a dr. note and all would be well. You aren't not going just to not go and it wouldn't be fair to be punished for getting sick...

They did accept this letter signed by the dr. and did not have any problems at the end of school year. Hope it works for you

| I was going to suggest what the poster above did. Just let your instructors know ahead of time and then maybe they will be more lenient with you. I wish you much luck

| Thank you guys, if I don't start to improve I will have to figure something out with my doctors. I think the thing is that my doctor's expect me to just get used to how I feel and push through it, which I WISH I could do, but this stuff just wipes me out beyond belief. I don't know how anyone can push through not being able to breathe well. I so appreciate the well wishes and advice, I am so grumpy today! I feel like a little kid writing myself excuses to my professors when I wish I could just be there doing the work. |

| Sounds to me like the attendance policy is for unexcused abscenses... I would imagine a Dr. note would wipe you clean. I'm sorry you're sick. I can relate- when I am sick there is no "pushing through." I am such a baby!! Any it's OK to be grumpy! Rest, relax, take a hot bath and focus on getting better. If you are just stressing about it, it will just make things worse. Get better!!
