Yorkie Yakker | Freemont Street isn't as expensive as the strip. I went for Thanksgiving 2 years ago. We stayed far off the strip and it was SCARY. The second night we stayed at the Golden Nugget on Freemont. It was very nice. Maybe someone that lives there can give you better info. Good luck

| I loved Freemont Street, better than the strip when I was there... I have to admit that Vegas wasnt all that to me... not being a gambler or big spender, I much enjoyed the sites and enjoyment at Freemont Street, and of course the outlet mall... Have a good trip! d

| DH and I were at the Golden Nugget on Freemont Street in March for his birthday. It was very nice. The shows we saw,(Wayne Brady, and Phantom of the Opera) were on the new strip though, and taxis were a little pricey! I forgot to mention the light show they do just outside of the hotel nightly...it was really neat! Last edited by wvmomof3; 09-20-2008 at 01:45 PM. |

Yorkie Yakker | There is a free shuttle bus that goes from freemont street to the strip. We took it. That might save you a little bit. I'm not a big gambler either. Saw Celine while I was there. Shopped at Ceasar's. Walked FOREVER. Bring good Tennis Shoes! You'll need it.

| I would rather find a hotel on the strip, usually it's not very expensive ...but this coming week the prices are way too high because of the conventions I wanted to stay at the Wynn |
