| I know I'll get h*** for posting this but.... There is a wonderful woman named Ruth that I know from another board who has been so supportive of Emma's plight.... Yesterday afternoon she got a frantic call from a friend about a litter of Chi's just born.... three were not doing well. Ruth ran to her aid and by the time she arrived, two had started to improve but one little guy was still very frail. Ruth took him home and began tube feeding him immediately. Today they went to the vet who said the little boy has a 50/50 chance of survival.... he has a full cleft palate. Baby is 1.9 ounces..... Ruth has gone through "the hell of raising a cleft puppy" already in the past and says she just cannot put herself through it again. Of course, I said I'd try to help.... trouble is.... how do you get a newborn pup with these problems from Maine to Oklahoma??? Please don't post about how silly it would be to go to the expense of getting him here.... please don't post about your opinions of how he should just be put to sleep.... I doubt even a rescue group would take this baby in, considering his dim prognosis. If you have ideas, options or encouragement.... I welcome your comments. Here is "Duke"....

| LOL, you sure can title a thread that makes you look. I don't have any advise for you but you truly are an angel to even consider it. You really have a big heart girl! I hope it all works out and if anyone can make it happen you can.

| I don't know that I could help him... but he's certainly worth the effort, as is any living thing... A rescue group just doesn't have the time or manpower to provide such intensive care... they are so overwhelmed as it is..... otherwise, I would say that would be his best option.

| Question... Could a baby this tiny and young even be flown? (with a human passenger of course)

| It's so generous of you to offer to help this baby Dena! I'm of no use since I don't live between Maine and Oklahoma, but maybe a YT train???

| I had thought of a train, but everyone involved would have to know how to - and be very comfortable in tube feeding the lil' guy along the way.... and exposure would be a very critical issue as well....... so the utmost care would have to be taken in handling him - as well as his environment.... I don't know.... might be hard to get people to take a chance with him...

| Don't think after all this time that you well get h*** from anyone. I know I am guilty of giving my inappropiate opinion when you started with Emma but all I could feel was the pain and being negative instead of positive, but have apologized to everyone. You have done so much for Emma, we all respect your compassion.
