Yep, a Potato Bug. But, I've never seen one fly. Could it have fallen from something onto you? And, they are the ugliest, grossest bug out there. I would have screamed and then showered! ha

The night before this happened, I was leaving at night to grab some coffee. As I was closing my gate, something landed in my hair and it had some weight on it too. I hit myself and got in the car but never knew what it was. The very next day, during daylight, I was coming through the same gate and as soon as I slammed it shut, is when I felt it land in my hair. So YES! I do think it fell from the tree or gate or roof, my goodness

OMG! Thank Goodness I have never seen one of those out here in the desert! I would have passed out if that landed on me!

omg!!! same thing happened to me one time in class.. cept it was black!! and i didnt know it was on my head for like 15 mins.. i felt something move but i ignored it then it jumped off itself and i almost screamed but i held it in cuz i was in class...

but yeah i know how you feel..freaky!!!

That is the biggest and scariest bug I've ever seen. I'm TERRIFIED of bugs, I love snakes,rats,alligators but not BUGS... I alwayd scream so loud my whole family says I SCARE them... I HATE bugs, You were very brave not to have screamed or fainted or had a heart attack... Good Job...

I would have screamed for days! I had a moth fly into my hair last night when we were trying to rescue a baby bunny that our cat was trying to kill, and I FREAKED out. My dh laughed and laughed at me because it was just a stupid moth, but when it hits your head, you picture it to be something like that!! Now I am really going to freak when something flies into my hair!
That being said though, I am not scared of most bugs and I like snakes and reptiles. Its that whole fear of the unknown when something falls on your head, plus I HATE spiders.

Living in NY does have it's benefit's afterall

Someone would have had to peel me off the sidwalk if that thing
landed in my head. Just the thought of it makes my skin crawl!
