Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | It was raining.............SQUIRRELS! Ok, the weather was beautiful yesterday morning! Hubby and I were sitting in the backyard with our fab four; they were enjoying the beautiful morning too. All of a sudden Lexie spotted squirrels in the yard and took off after them, with I believe it was Halle close behind her; the squirrels of course scurried up the nearest tree in our yard. The next thing I hear is a good sized "THUMP" & then more scurring up the tree. Mind you, at this point...and this is just a matter of seconds going by, I am only noticing the dogs running, noticing movement/sounds in the trees, and only heard the THUMP but didn't actually see the squirrel fall. It was that quick. BUT, the thump got my attention and at about the time hubby & I looked up to see the squirrels, they BOTH came falling from the sky (well, the tree), with another good THUMP and at least 2 dogs waiting below. Amazingly, the squirrels bounced up and again ran up the tree before the dogs could get them. I was shocked....at the fact that not one but three squirrels fell in a matter of probably a minute, that my dogs were right there and they weren't able to catch them (thankfully), and that even with what sounded like such a hard fall, the squirrels got right up (quickley) seemingly unphased, and ran back up the tree. I had never witnessed anything like that before and have wondered a few times at how those animals could climb up the sides of trees, walk those power lines, and jump from branch to branch (or tree to tree) so accurately, so fast. Well, now I know that they CAN slip and fall from time to time.

| I never saw a squirrel fall from a treet, but I know they can. Too bad Matty wasn't visiting you - she would have been in her element. She LOVES to chase squirrels and birds and mice and leaves that are blowing around...

| Sam would have been in heaven.... RAINING SQUIRRELS!!! He loves squirrels and circles the trees just looking for one. One of the ones around here mis judged his jump I guess bc he fell in the yard while jumping from a tree to the fence - he fell right by Martin and kinda froze. Martin has no desire to chase or look for them bc that requires energy but Sam took off that way and then the squirrel scurried away. Sam was just looking at Martin like WTH?!!?!?!? We coulda had a squirrel!!!! It was funny.

| LOL...I have a family of them living in the tree in my backyard. Had to laugh when the neighbor wondered where all the walnuts from her tree were going! |

| Squirrels come up onto my patio. My baby has a jumping up & down barking fit when she sees them through the glass door. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Well, not 3 at one time....but 2 for sure. And I got to thinking that the first thump (that I didn't really see) could have been both squirrels even then. Also funny that you should mention us looking up into the tree....today we were out again, the squirrels were back, and there was a point when one was sitting on the edge of a branch VERY close to being over our heads. I noticed it cuz Lexie was sitting almost right under it looking up, just waiting for him to fall. LOL

| Your babies will probably sit and wait for the squirrels to fall now. How funny... Winston will sit under a tree and wait...and wait...and wait...not knowing the squirrel is long gone. He just sits there patiently looking up into the tree...
