Raj?? I don't think he left - only like 4 compete in each event for the team. Raj did a great job on the parallel bars

Of course he could have been just going to shower or get a drink or something. I think he is so great.

They all put on warm up clothes between routines. But he wasn't competing in every apparatus...I think he is finished with the ones he was doing...

I don't get it...how do the Chinese guys keep screwing up and still getting such high scores...I realize they are starting off with higher difficulty levels, but still...:confused:

He was FANTASTIC!! It was too bad the other 2 made big mistakes :( - I would have loved to have seen those boys in Gold or Silver - but Bronze isn't shabby either. They have a lot to be proud of.

How representative this team is of the US - the 3 on the pommel horse - Indian heritage, China and Russian!

And how about the 3rd alternate in the stands with Raj's parents and in tears. You have to wonder what was going thru his mind

Yes, I saw the alternate and I'm sure it was so hard to not be a part of that wonderful experience. They have alot to be proud of and they are going swimming in the river. lol I'm so happy for them.

I love the olympics, both summer and winter but haven't been able to see much. Last night, not anything. My Directv has been out of whack since Thursday and I have spent more than 2 hrs. on the phone with 3 different guys trying to get it fixed. Last night couldn't even get our locals. :( BUT... did get to see Phelps both nights. :):):)

Didn't realize that they change the picture as the day goes on today on the link that I posted above. This moring they had a wonderful picture of the entire men's gymnatics team.

Phelps just got another GOLD !!

As thrilled as I am for Phelps, I'm so disappointed for the women's gymnastic team.

My girl, Shawn, continues to be strong - but it is so hard to watch the majority of the team struggle and be hurt :( -- I really had believed that this would be a team like the magnificent 7 from 8 yrs ago.

It is so hard knowing that the Chinese have very apparently lied and have girls too young out there on the floor. Not to take away by any means the steadiness they are showing. But a couple times tonight the scores seemed to be off in comparing the US and China :confused:

Praying Shawn sets this all straight later this week - and earns gold in multiple events -- it is so hard - here for months they have been running commercials calling her the Golden Girl - so how much pressure is that, and know only silver in the team event. I can't imagine the pressure on her at 16.

I hated to miss that but after the late previous night, I couldn't keep my eyes open as you can see on my previous post (couldn't spell) I woke up early this morning to see how they did and was disappointed to hear that.
We'll have to work harder in the next four years to come.

The famous Olympic skier Picabou Street (pronounced Peek-A-Boo) is not just an athlete.... She is now a nurse currently working at the Intensive Care Unit of a large metropolitan hospital. She is not permitted to answer the hospital telephones. It caused too much confusion when she would answer the phone and say, Picabou, ICU:)

I stayed up and just felt so bad for those girls. The door was wide open for them because of the mistakes on the Chinese team, and it just didn't happen. I just hope they don't keep kicking themselves over this and get too wigged out to do well in individual competition.

Did anyone happen to catch Bela Karoli's comments regarding the age issue of the Chinese girls? He really puts it out there and says how he feels, huh! No sugar coating it or being afraid to tell it like it is! Good for him! He was stating what's on everyone's mind.

When I saw this yesterday, I about screamed loud enough for you to all hear - but we have to remember this is a COMMUNIST Country -- the Chinese, along with the media has tried to white-wash China and the country's history, but we can not forget who they are, the government in place there and the continued atrocities.

I heard that scream.:) We were talking about that today while I was out and we were saying that in China a little girl is lucky to be born and stay in China period. Alot are given up for adoption to the US and other countries because of the tax levy they hit the family with and most can't afford it. It has to be heart breaking. My grand daughter and her husband spent a year in China right after they got married and found them to be dear sweet people but of course the government left alot to be desired. They visited Japan and loved it and want to go back again to visit but have no desire to go back to China.

Here it is...after midnight and I am glued to the TV again watching the Olympics, glued to this mens' competition as if I am going to miss something big....like it wouldn't be shown 55472859 times again even if I DID miss something.:rolleyes:

Yep, me too - and I was yawning all afternoon at work today :rolleyes:

Too bad our boys aren't doing better tonight - they have just got to stick those landings :(

Wow...that men's competition was one of the most boring things I have ever watched in my life. I've watched paint dry and been more entertained. It was like NONE of the men really cared that they were even there. (Except the French guy who cried hysterically when he won the bronze metal. :p) ALL of them were messing up...even the Chinese guy. I hope the women's competition tonight is more entertaining.
