| Hardwood floor vacuum?? We installed bamboo flooring in our new home. The stain is super dark (and gorgeous!!!!), but it requires me to dust/sweep it every other day. I don't mind it as I constantly tidy up, but when I use a swiffer, it really just pushes the dust and little dirt particles around and into the grooves between the planks. I would love to get a little lightweight vacuum specifically for wood floors. I want something that will be careful as far as the wheels not scratching the floor, the ability to work right up next to our baseboards (without scratching them or leave black marks b/c they are white), etc. I don't need any type of wet vac. We will continue to use the Bruce floor cleaner spray with the swiffer for that. Any recommendations? Of course, the more affordable the better! |

| I just got my hardwood floors in too, and I find that just a regular dust mop works great. I don't think that I'll get a vaccuum.

| I use a Shark on my laminate floors and being out in the country, seems like I use it at least 3 times a week - although it could probably use it more at times. I think it works well but since bamboo is softer, I'm not sure about that part. I just know I couldn't live without my Shark. I would absolutely hate to pull my Rainbow out every other day but the dust and junk from outdoors drives me nuts. Good luck!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I bought a great dust mop from Bed Bath and Beyond, I have several, but this one I love. It has a microfiber fabric layer that attaches with Velcro to mop head. The handle is study, and you dust going back and forth in a zigzag motion, it's must faster than vacuuming. I bought a few extra microfiber pads, and also use it for damp mopping. A spray bottle with ½ cup of white vinegar, and water cleans the floor. As you probably know, vinegar cuts through oil, so it's great for cleaning floor, and no streaks. You can dust mop a whole floor in less than a minute because the dust sticks to the mop, much better than swifter, and when the pad is dirty just toss in washer.
