There are some really great outcomes for these babies. This person went throught it all and shared a great story. The operation only cost $2700 too, it's not even that prohibitive - in the scheme of things. So, reading this gave me more insight into what Emma faces. Great story!

I just read and can't wait to "meet" Bombo!!!

How wonderful that the breeder cared for and raised Bombo for the first 4 months of his life before Amy got him..... so many wouldn't have bothered..... I would like to know her, she is an exceptional breeder!!

I really wish sometimes, that we would have waited to have Emma's surgeries done..... heck, we spent over 2700.00 in the first week of her life.... with surgeries that, for the most part, failed....... but then, the soft palate cleft repair did remain in tact following the surgery.... and even now....

I don't know if Emma would have been able to make it through, had that soft palate cleft remained open....... guess there's no way to know......

Better you than me, I say. After all we've been through with Zacchie, and me second guessing every decision in the early days, I wouldn't have been able to take all the negativity you have seen. And I wouldn't want intruders in our lives.
But I'm glad, glad, glad that I chose to push through the hard parts! The sleepless days and nights to get where we are today. I wouldn't trade a single one of those nights for the joyous puppy that he is.

Dena!! How wonderful that would be!! Just think ... the only way some children learn is through books written for them to understand! I know that we try to teach our children and grandchildren, but there are so many out there who don't have anyone who cares enough to teach them. What a wonderful thing Emma's story could be! Here's hoping!

OMG, I am ROFL SOOOO HARD HERE!!!! I just got done watching Lil Punkin Butt in the video of her playing. Boy she really loves that moneky doesn't she, LOLOL!! She really zips around in her bed, it's so good to see her doing so good. Ya, I'd say she was in a "mood" alright, lol. That's what I say when Lil Miss Maggy May is bouncing off the walls and all around, lol. I didn't get the sense that Dena was speaking about you. Why would you get that idea?
She was responding to a comment I left her. We have been through the same journey and understand what each other is going through by way of EXPERIENCE. Anyone who is kind enough to encourage the path we have taken is still going off of compassion, and really has no other way to relate. We are thankful for all the encouragement, but we also know that anyone giving less than that has no idea what they are talking about if they have not rescued one of these precious babies.
So the word ignorance is not a negative thing, it connotates a lack of hands on experience.
BTW, before I hand raised Zaccheus I was ignorant, too.
