I'm off work on tues. night, so I get to go to the discussion about this. I can't wait. I have to remember to take pictures of all the crappy landscaping that is done, not from the dogs!

I don't necessarily think it is though...for one I think it's too absurd, and they did something else that isn't necessarily legal recently. When you first pull into my neighborhood there is a streetlight, they posted a piece of paper on this pole, yes a piece of paper, not even a street sign, and it's printed out from someones home computer. It says you must obey the 20mph speed limit through out the neighborhood, and there are now cameras so if you go over 20 mph you will be caught and fined/ticketed. I'm not complaining about driving slow through out the neighborhood because I do anyways since theres too many people out, but if you drive through my neighborhood there is not ONE speed limit sign! And this sign is printed so small you can't even read it. Not only that, I have yet to see a camera! I mean for spending OVER $150/MO. on association, you think they could atleast have a readable sign!

Plus, were already paying them each month, and I'm sure from what they get and spend, they are making a HUGE profit, especially comparing other neighborhoods and what they pay. They can tap into their profit and pay to fix it up.

I think you have answered your own question, it's their land, you pay for the upkeep, and it's their responsiblity to keep it looking good. I doubt if they are making the profit, you think, and many people think they yellow areas are a huge eye sore and should be repaired, this isn't cheap. Besides, this won't cost you a cent, if your dog isn't the one making the mess.

| I'm sorry this is SO frustrating. I went through a similar situation in my townhouse when I got Cooper. My neighbors didn't like me (I was 18 & they were 65) but I was always respectful and quiet! They tried to CHANGE the HOA to ban dogs, my dad was quite mad and had his lawyers contact them. My dad purchased the house with the understanding that dogs were allowed. You cannot change the rules after someone buys the house! From what I understand; They cannot retroactively change the rules about dogs. Your dogs would have to be "grandfathered in", and the new rule about banning a particular dog after multiple offenses could only (legally) be applied to NEW purchasers. This is only my opinion, and understanding from my experience. GOOD LUCK |

What ended up happening in the long run? Did your neighbors finally learn to accept the fact that you going to live there and have a dog, or were they still trying to cause trouble?
