I Just finished reading "the time traveler's wife" a national best seller.. its a love story but definitely not a traditional one!

i have just finished reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult - i've read most of her stuff but this is exceptional...As a midwife, Lacy Houghton brings lives into the world. she didn't expect her son to take them away. But that's what he did one March morning, when he walked into his high school with guns instead of books and killed ten people. Along with the rest of the shocked and grief-stricken town, Lacy is left wondering when her shy 17-year-old boy turned into a monster. And was it her fault? In the aftermath of the shooting, Lacy searches the past for clues and begins to realise that despite, or perhaps because of, her every effort, she never really knew her son at all...even though the subject matter is quite dark, it is a brill read and has a great twist at the end.

I LOVE to read! I always ask for 1/2 price bookstore gift certificates for Christmas!

I love to read Mysteries! My favorite author is Mary Higgins Clark, I've read everything she's written. I also Love James Patterson, Mary Jane Clark, Patricia Cornwell, I could go on!
My passion on vacation is to find local Mystery authors and buy their books!

I second Mary Higgins Clark and James Patterson! My favorite fun creepy read is Dean Koonze. Anyone else a fan? I love him!

Oh yes, I mentioned Dean Koontz in one of my above posts. I usually get my books from a friend of mine that reads a lot too (I trade her with the already read magazines that I subscribe to) but she doesn't read Dean Koontz. That's one that I buy myself as soon as they hit paperback. Love him!

So many of you are reading something "good for you". I like plain ol' fiction! haha Right now I'm reading James Patterson's "Step on a Crack". If you are looking for a really, really fantastic mystery author (my favorite) read the books by Lee Child. OMG, they are FANTASTIC!!

This has been on my list since it came out. I really need to read this book. Sounds fantastic.

My B & N is raffeling off Bella's bracelet. If I had any energy I'd go tonight and try to win it for my niece!! She'll be there at midnight getting her copy and wearing her "I love vampires" t-shirt.

Our B&N is having a party.

I also like JA Jance, the JP Beaumont detective stories which are centered around the Seattle area. I haven't read one in years so I don't know if I've missed any. She also writes a series around Joanna Brady who I think is a Sheriff in a small Arizona town or something like that. I didn't like these as much and JP.

Oh, thanks! I don't think I remember reading anything by Lee Child. Will definitely put it on my list. I have a huge credit at a paperback exchange place in the town where I work but the problem is going in there, you feel so overwhelmed and don't know what to look for. Knowing a specific author will help a lot.

And yes.... Entertained rather than improved - that's how I read!
