This has all been going on most of my life, just has been getting a LOT worse lately - to the point it is disrupting other aspects of my life. It started getting worse months ago.

(Been battling depression all my life and would never poo poo depression or anxiety) Never meant to offend. One small victory for myself recently: Hubster has Hanes socks with Hanes in 3 diff colours on the toe part. After 4 years, last week, I made myself NOT match the pairs with matching color threads! I can not begin to tell you how diff that was for me and how long it took. Yes, there was sweating, nausea and a couple of times where I had to walk away, calm down and go back to it. Most days I feel as if I am Lucy in an "I LOve Lucy" episode.

| Oh no no, you didn't offend. Not at all! I was just explaining that I don't think it has to do with me ear. Sort of wish it did though. Would be nice to clear all this stuff up with a round of antibiotics! Congrats on your non-matching socks. I don't think I could ever do that! Not only do I match by color, I also match by wear and shape (older ones together, etc).

But I hang them up whatever way they come out of the dryer, inside out. He HATES that! LOL Im waiting for the day I come home and he's got ALL my clothes on the bed and rehanging them right side out!!! HAHA

Seriously if the clothes even make it to hangers and IN the closet Im happy!!! Actually if the clothes get WASHED before I run out of clean clothes Im happy!!! hahahahaIm not a slob, Im actually a very clean person. I just don't have time to spend on perfection. Got sooo much else more fun stuff to do! I'll tellin ya..... give yourself 15 mins to vaccuum then put it away and take the fur babies for a walk or something. You'll feel great, and you'll be too tried and fulfilled emotionally/mentally to bother vaccuuming again!

| It must be exhausting living like that. I agree with Ann. I'm no professional, but i work in the medical field. My doc is a family doc and he does a lot of counseling. I think when you have to have control over housecleaning, etc. it means you don't feel very in control of the other parts of your life. I sure hope you start feeling better.

| TRUST ME.. i feel ya!! i am OCD for sure.. and have major anxiety problems sometimes as well! it is NO FUN.. and it gets very tiring!! I notice the more stressed out i get.. the worse my OCD sometimes becomes!! each person has there own "rituals" that they must perform or else they feel that anxiety come over them.. i am sorry you are going through this!! but i would see your doctor and he will most likely be able to help you get back on track!! just look at the responses you got on here.. there are many people who know how you feel and half the people wouldn't necessarily admit it.. so you are definitely not alone.. it's good you are able to recognize it and help yourself.. so you can be a happier you!! ![]()

). Especially since you're saying it's becoming more of an issue, enough so that it's disrupting other things and upsetting you even more than I think it makes sense to talk to the doctor about this.Don't work yourself up for that conversation either! (Though if it were me I'd probably be rehearsing what I'd say before hand....) A doctor has been trained! Nothing should be stupid or cause him/her to treat you differently (in a negative way)! In fact, I halfway expect your doctor to tell you, "Well I'm not too knowledgeable about this, go ahead and see Dr. So-and-so." We're all special! It's our quirks that make us interesting. But when those quirks make life difficult, then it's time to try to see what can be done. And I think you're making a really great decision!!! P.S. I totally agree with the poster above me, great comments! Come on, don't you see all of us telling you our quirks and making sure you know you're not alone! You know why, because you're not, we're all here too (for you)!!! <virtual hug> Last edited by mblab; 07-31-2008 at 05:50 AM. Reason: Ooops, actually read all of the posts now...

| Thank you everyone. ((((hugs)))) I have a dr appt August 8th at 9:00am. I could have got one earlier, but the kids start school that day so I will be able to go to my dr appt alone without having to worry about finding someone to keep them. I am going to type him up a letter and list of symptoms too.
