| Please pray for my Hubby's family - loss of grandpa Please pray for my hubby family and him too. He lost his grandpa today. Sad to say they were not close at all and the family is split. His grandma divorced this grandpa after 52 years of marriage. Lets' just say he wasnt the best guy, but still its hard on a family. His health has been bad for a while and Dan's dad takes care of his mom and dad both everyday, ( in different homes) He goes over there morning to get him up and dress, shower, etc. Well today when he walked in to get him ready he found him dead in the bathtub. A tub full of water, no running water and it had happened probably sometime really late last night. Here is the thing...He always took showers and had to have the shower seat there. For some reason, the shower seat was in the other room and he had taken a bath. Not sure but they are thinking maybe he tried taking his own life by drowning. Its sooo terriblly sad and Dan's dad was so distrot finding his father his way (they will still close) When his grandmother was told the news, she is taking it so hard. She has always loved him and never stopped. She just could no longer live the way she was living and the things he did. I'm really worried for her. She is 90 and he was 91. Dan of course is feeling guilty. Regardless of how his grandfather treated him (which was terrible) He feels bad. His own daughter doesnt talk to him either due to certain thing. Its so terrible when a family splits and there are hard feeling and sadness to all. Regardless, when someone passes, it hard on everyone. This grandfather had it set up to be cremated. No services, not even for family, and no place for the ashes. This is hard on the family too. They are granting his wishes, but dont agree with it. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. |

| Oh, Denise, I am so terribly sorry! I can relate to your hubby's grief. I never had the priviledge to know my Grandmother's [one died when I was just about one month old and one when my Mother was in ninth grade, so I never knew either of them them]. My Mother's Dad was absolutely my hero but was killed in a car wreck when I was ten [he left me with wonderful memories that I treasure to this day] ... the other one lived to a ripe old age and was a monster and I despised him! He was mean to my sweet Daddy but Daddy loved him and that was the only reason that I even went to his funeral! My Daddy was my best friend, my buddy, and I knew I had to be there for him and I was. Perhaps your Hubby can look at it like that and be supportive for his Dad. You're right, it is heartbreaking when families are split. Just know that I will be praying for your Hubby and his family ... he has you and I'm sure he is comforted by that. God bless and comfort you all and give you peace.
