| I'm sure something is wrong with it, your right it wouldn't be just sitting there. If you do have a box you can get it in just make sure there is ventilation and keep it in a garage or somewhere away from your animals because you never know what disease it could be carrying. If it is hurt badly enough it might not make it through the night anyway, but at least you will be making it more comfortable. In the morning if it is still alive call your animal control dept and they should be able to direct you to someone that could help.

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | If it's still there in the morning and not moving it is probably sick or something. You can maybe try feeding it if you feel up to it, if you touch it just wear gloves or something, it seems old enough to be on it's own but maybe it's sick

| Well my boyfriend and I went outside to put it in a box we made. I picked it up off the fence and it fluttered.. got it to the ground and it just sat there on the driveway. It moved a couple of times (looking around and scratching itself) It didn't seem injured.. even pooed in my hand . We sat there with it for 10 minutes or so then I tried and put it in the box and it fluttered right back out! It landed back on the driveway and sat there for a few minutes then flew back on the fence where it was! So I decided to just leave it be, at least for the night. I'll observe tomorrow and see if the parents are coming back. It was soooo darn cute and soft I read a lot of places that say it's a myth that if you touch a baby bird the mother will not come back so I'm not worried about that anymore. Thanks for the help all.

| Senior Yorkie Talker | If you call your local Animal control or sheriff's office they can give you numbers to specialized animal rescue teams. I would get him inside before something gets it. It's ok to touch the bird if he has left the nest the mother bird wont respond to him any longer even if you touch it or not. |

| Well if you look at this http://www.ibrrc.org/pdfs/jacobs_birds.pdf It says if you find a baby bird with feathers it's a fedgling. It says it is normal behavior for the bird to be on the ground and that the parents are still feeding it.

| The little guy or girl was gone today. I looked all over my yard and the neighbors yard and couldn't find it. I think it was just a fledgling. I hope it's okay
