I need help with trendy shoes question - Page 4 - YorkieTalk.com Forums

When I was in 6th grade I needed blue and white shoes for cheerleading. I waited last minute to get them so my dad and I went to Payless. The only ones they had were Richard Simmons brand!!!! LOL. I got them and ripped all the labels from the shoe off.

I remember YEARS ago, when Keds were in...right after Dirty Dancing came out. Anyway, I begged and begged and my parents finally bought me a pair. They were like $20 but back then, that was expensive for my parents. Anyway, when those shoes wore out, I knew that my parents wouldn't buy me another pair so I took a razor and took the label off the back and super glued them on to another cheap pair! NO ONE EVER KNEW!!!

Talk about 80's flash back! I used to wear Kangaroos in grade seven. Funny how all these things are coming back in style.

Anyone remember Northstars running shoes? I had a blue and yellow pair I just loved.

K Swiss are really popular and Baby Phat is also. My kids both wanted K swiss. They are 8 and 12. DOnt know if this helps at all

They even have sketchers at build a bear for your critters!!! I'm having the same problem with my 9 yr old...I don't know what to get her!

Wow. I've never heard of Crocs. LaCoste is pretty big here (another 80s thing coming back!) Just reminded me becasue it has a crocidile for a logo.

LaCoste is definately in. Man, back in elementary I remember my brother wearing those "alligator" shirts that be bought for a few dollars. Now, they are $72 each! Trendy and "IN" sure does mark up the price on things.

Uggs are fading out. The fad only lasted a year here. Or, what I know. I just never liked them. Especially in Texas where it's always hot and humid.

I know for a fact that Converse All-Stars are a big trend. I don't think you can go wrong with them. I have a pair of red ones and black ones. They go with pretty much any t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

And the other trendy things are the Boho flashy, glittery, beady sandals/flipflops but those aren't tennis shoes

Never heard of Crocs wow that is strange how fashion is. Popular in one city but not in another. They are very popular here.

do you have a ross or marshalls in your area? i was just there today and i bought my daughter really cute converse low heel shoes for only 12.99! at the mall they were 45.00 bucks! here in monterey,ca converse, k=swiss, and babyphat(the plain white ones) are in. girls wear them with skirts, jeans, everything.

YES it did !! and that story was told to me by my son only a few months ago - I had totally forgot I did that - he has an ELEPHANT memory - so for all you young parents - know this.....When they grow up - THEY REMEMBER ! lol
ps...my son said he remembers LOVING his "artificial" Nike's ....he DID get a real pair when I could afford it.
