Its tough but you are so young that I would have gone stir crazy at your age if I didn't work! The one thing that you wrote that kind of made me go ugh...was the fact that it is your boyfriend.....not husband. Not that divorce isn't a reality..but when its a boyfriend/girlfriend kind of thing....I don't know...you need to get out there and see what floats your boat!

The only piece of advice I give to young people like yourself..is GO SEE THE WORLD!!! Had I known what I know now! Traveling isn't...or at least wasn't as expensive as what I had thought...go get a job...who cares where...save up for a few months then go somewhere you have always wanted to go...do this kind of stuff now while your young because one the marriage and kids enter the picture...it just slowly starts becoming harder and harder to do the little things in life.

I agree with volunteering! I did two years with AmeriCorps...you get a living allowance but at the end of your year you get an Educational Award....money towards school....or to pay back school loans! I did my first year at an Area Prevention Resource Center (drug, alcohol, depression, suicide......tons of training that you will never receive in college) and the second year I was with the American Red Cross teaching various classes...not only was this awesome training but looked excellent on the resume!

The possibilities of life enjoyment are limitless...you may very well be the one person stopping you from totally enjoying it! Good luck!

Well im a stay at home mom to my doggies right now i was working but i quit..i admit i hate working too lol and dont really HAVE to right now, i mean i can save up money for my own good but right now i live with my mom still and go to school...but school's out, i was going to take a summer class here but they're all full so i have to wait till nxt semester. Usually to keep myself busy i go to the park alot, ill go tan in central park or take the dogs, ill go bike riding, ill work out when i can, i also like to read a lot. Right now i am reading the Twilight series hmm what else do i do..oh go on here a lot LOL I have a hard time sleeping at night too, i mostly sleep with my bf and have gotten used to that so if hes not here i really cant sleep alone, i get really like ansy and scared. but then when he is here, which he is now we stay up like all night and then sleep during the day lol, we just messed up our routine, we were going to bed early and waking up early for the past month but we messed that up. i could find another job but idunno, i just get really bored after a while of working and i end up quitting. I wish i could just work for myself, if i knew how to sew i would do that, cause i really want to make clothes

Boyfriends can be 'easy come easy go'. Sadly I had a boyfriend for 10 years, then he was a fiance, then he was gone. No strings, no alimony, no money, no nothing.... just gone. Like that! Luckily I have a nice career myself and can support myself so i didnt have to move back home or anything, I actually bought my own townhouse and went back to college pt nights so I can get my degree finally.

You seem like maybe you MIGHT be interested in doing the doggy clothing and accessories, why not try to work through the initial 'no interest' and see if you gain interest as your creations take form? Sometimes we don't realize how much we really do like something until we see the finished product!

In this day & age, I cannot advocate enough to young woman to take control and responsibility of your own life. You have no idea how woman had to struggle in the past to earn the rights to get the life we can have now. I know this was not the direction you intended your post to go but you cannot seriously jump on and say "im 20, don't like to work, can't finish a project and Im bored, what can I do with my days?" when MOST of the women on here are hardworking or have families and plenty to fill their days with household chores and raising kids. You are going to get the advice to get your life in order. Find what makes you happy and persue it. You also need to work on your self-esteem, try getting some good self-help books or maybe seeing a therapist. You ARE a smart, wonderful, young girl FULL of potential and who can do anything she wants! You just need to see that for yourself!

Thanks for this, this is actually encouraging and didn't make me feel like crap! I'm sure everyone was just trying to give their opinion and I respect that but for some odd reason it made me feel like I was stupid for doing what I'm doing. I admit I have really low self esteem and I always have and I really need to work on that. It's not the low self esteem in the aspect of looks but in the aspect of doing anything in my life or with my life.

You are not stupid! I don't think anyone intended to make you feel stupid. I think you need direction though. Try the self help books, try reading "The Secret", try to find a therapist.... and mostly believe in yourself!

I'll tell you, I hate working too! It so gets in the way of my social life. haha But at the end of the day I feel good when I solve a problem and made someone else's work day easier or when I learned something new to get something done. Its just rewarding in general. Even when I was younger and worked at Burger King. I was the FASTEST drive thru cashier they had and they loved me for it. I could do the math in my head in seconds (the register did not do the 'change' so you had to do it in your head. And that felt good to know I was needed, even if I hated it!

Haha I wish it were that easy for me! I was in beauty school though therefore basically all of the work in hands on. Thanks for the tip though!
