Also, wherever this is held, the one thing that was really nice about the location in KC was that there was so much within walking/free shuttle distance from the hotel. We need to make sure wherever we go has similar local attractions. |
i have a few ? for people who went last year how did you get to the hotel do cabs let dogs in and how much money did you spend eating out 3 meals for 3 days |

I thought everyone who worked on this year's meetup did a great job and must have done an incredible amount of work to make the meetup so successful. I REALLY wanted to go and the reason I didn't had nothing to do with cost. It had to do with getting there from here in Buffalo NY. The drive would have taken a little over a day and flying would have required a couple of stops to get there with about 6 hours of travel. Lulu is very afraid of loud noises and thunder and I would need to sedate her to get her there. I would have done that if I could have gotten a direct flight so we wouldn't be in the air or in an airport for as long as 6 hours but I just didn't want to have her scared and sedated that long. So, with that long explanation, I would support having the meeting wherever the majority of people decide but I may not be able to go if it requires a long plane trip or car trip. I know it was agreed last year that the next meetup should be on one of the coasts which is fine--maybe we could pick a place that has a major airport that most people could get a direct flight to? If it didn't have to be on a coast, I was thinking Chicago because I know they are pet friendly and have a major airport. I am glad that this year's committee is volunteering again because you guys did such a great job! |
I like Florida and (Austin) Texas. |

For those of you who like Florida...do you know of a dog-friendly city in the Northern part of Florida? Like North of Orlando?? |
