| What to create a blog... So, I really want to start a blog... but I don't know what to make it about!!! Is it ok for a blog to not have a specific theme? I'm allowed to just talk about random stuff, right? ...But I don't really know what to talk about, haha. I'm sure if I just start something it'll come. It's just weird for me; I don't want it to sound stupid, haha. Any ideas? Anyone have any blogs they want to share with me? I'm going to use wordpress. |

| Just write about anything that strikes your mind. Express your feelings, emotions, and share pictures, you'll probably have more fun and enjoy writing more when it's something you enjoy writing about, as opposed to always having to write about a specific topic. Have fun! |

After you figure it out let me know what you decided on and how you went about doing it. I want to list videos of my dogs and pups but I don't know how to do that either.

| I use wordpress.com. After you download a video on youtube, you can link it to your blog with ease. Just create an account and play around. There are different pre-made themes so that you don't have to have any crazy web-design skills to get started. |

What is wordpress? Do you think youtube is safe? If not I will use a computer I don't pay any bills with etc. I would like to learn how to do this, to post my puppy videos' but also some dance videos I have taken of our kids and from the studio I work at part time.

| Yes, youtube is safe. Just don't use the same username/password that you do your banking with. Once you have a video file on your computer, you can easily upload onto youtube. Once a video is on youtube, it has it's own URL. WordPress is a free blogging site. You can create a free account and instantly start blogging. There is an "add media" option when writing a post (kinda like YorkieTalk). If you chose the video option, you just paste your youtube URL into the spot and your done. I find it very user friendly but would be more than happy to give you step by step instructions if you couldn't figure it out. One cool think about WordPress is that if you don't want your blog to be viewed by world, you can set a password to it. That way you can share it only with family if you chose and give them the password. If someone else stumbles upon your site, they can't actually look at it. When I have kids, I plan to have a blog just about them to share with family and I will have it password protected. Last edited by Epsilon; 06-26-2008 at 03:51 PM. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Your blog doesn't have to be about any one thing. That's what makes them so wonderful! Some of us do have underlying themese -- mine is about my house -- but that doesn't mean I can't talk about other stuff, too. Much to my surprise, I found I'm not alone in my house issues and I'm having a ball with this! I see you started one. I'm going to check it out. You can check mine out in my sig line. The only rule: Just have fun! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | See -- you DO have something to say! One word of advice: TELL people about your blog! I had mine for almost a year before I really took it seriously and actually TOLD people so they could go read it. Add your link to your sig line, and comment on other blogs. Pretty soon ppl will be checkin' ya out. Sounds like you'll build an iPhone following in a hurry. I just talk and sometimes text on my phone but my BFF has an iPhone and she all but has it attached at all times. It's pretty cool. Sorry you are sick. Get better!
