And I have heard the exact opposite!! I have been trying to cut back b/c I have heard it's bad for arthritis ( which I have ) and can be harmful if you have lupus or fibromyalgia...which I don't have, but a late family member did. It's hard to know who to believe these days!

I drink flavored seltzer water and very rarely drink diet soda. You get your flavor and your fizz with none of the bad stuff! Id rather have an occasional glass of the high test soda then diet everyday. However, if I were to drink diet soda it is usually Coke Zero or Cherry Coke Zero. To me it has the best flavor!
When I indulge in the real stuff, its almost always Sunkist! LOVE THAT STUFF!

Sodas of anykind is harmful for arthritis. Also sugar is another extremely bad thing for those (like myself) who suffer from this terrible disease. Diet is very important and eating lots of fresh veggies does wonders. (take all B vitamins and evening primrose)
I drink Liptons green tea in the bottle. Love that stuff!!

Yeah like Poland spring seltzer water. It comes in lime, lemon, cherry, orange flavors. Its yummy!

my mom has severe RA and has been told to comepletly stop drinking anything with artificial sweeteners

I am absolutely hooked on Coke Zero & Pibb Xtra Zero....they really taste the closest to the original!

I never could handle diet soda, bleech. Nothing beats a fountain soda pop though. Couple months ago I stopped drinking soda and switched to mostly water. Last few times I've tried soda I get a couple sips into it and I just can't drink it anymore, makes me sick. Rootbeer if I just get the craving.

I LOVE diet Dr. Pepper!! Back in high school, I stopped drinking pop for 3 years straight. I came to college, started drinking it again and I CANT quit now! I think I'd kill for a cherry vanilla diet dr. pepper fresh out of the fountain over a nice glass of ice!

I have read this in many articles as well and this is one of the reasons why I have been trying to cut back on the diet Pepsi....but I just can't give it up totally It is so hard! And when you start reading labels...it is amazing how many things have these artificial sweetners in it!

I have fibro and migraine headaches and the only artificial sweeteners I can use is the splenda. I still react to it, but not as bad as the nurtasweet. I try to stay away from artifical sweeteners but like it has been said, it is really hard. I do have to have a soda from time to time and will put up with the effects if I'm really desperate. There is nothing like a Ice cold Sun Drop, which is a soda like Mountain Dew, that is made locally and is heaven. I do have some form of soda from time to time, we can't be good all the time.

Maybe I should take up drinking beer..lol, but that gives me nasty headaches!!!

Sorry to hear you have Fibro...have you tried the sweetner Stavia (SP?). It is very good...the liquid is quite strong...but it is a great replacement for sugar and artificial sweetners..natural....people with Diabetes use this...
Wish they would make Pepsi with it!!
