| My daughter We were out shopping at some thrift stores today and I bought a blouse for each of my girls. My 9 year old, Robin, picked out a 60's - 70's type blouse with leopard print. We went to a few other places and I bought some new clothes as well as put some on layaway for school at Walmart. On our way home the girls got to discussing what they wanted to wear to vacation bible school tonight. Robin wanted to wear the leopard print blouse but Sarah(8) said no it was too fancy, it is for school so she can't wear it. Well, Sarah is a problem anywhere we go, so I was trying to stay out of it. Didn't help that I had a heat headache by that time. Finally to stop the arguing I said "I haven't washed it yet, you don't want to wear it dirty do you?" I was driving and Robin was up front with me. She said "It doesn't look dirty." I told her "Just because it doesn't look dirty doesn't mean it isn't dirty. All that leopard print might wash off when I wash it." .................................. Silence. Then she said "YOU THINK THE SPOTS MIGHT COME OFF IF YOU WASH IT?" I looked over at her and she had this look of disbelief on her face, I couldn't keep a straight face. LOL She could tell I couldn't keep it in and the look on her face changed to a smile. I thought it was so funny. I hope you do too. |

| That's a cute story. 8 and 9 that's a good age range. I dont have kids yet but my nieces are 7 and 10 and they are so funny. They can come up with the craziest things to say that really if you think about it make perfect sense I guess. Once again cute story and I bet you girls had fun shoppin'.

| I love that story! Sometimes it seems kids are running around being little know-it-alls. When you catch them in such a gullable moment it is so charming. Thanks for sharing the story. I bet your girls are in heaven with all the yorkies in your house!

I couldn't believe this when I read it. A kindred spirit! Then I had to go look up your profile to see how old you were(didn't see your avatar changing). I am the most gullible 51 year old you have ever seen. Especially, like you said if someone is family or a close friend. LOL I swear it must have been taught to me as a child and I never got over it. I finally got wise to my husband, if it sounds to good to be true, if it sounds odd, I don't believe him. Most of the time I don't have to worry about it but then I'll see a twinkle in his eye and it's time for my defensive mode. You'd think after reaching 51 I would either get wise or not care anymore, wouldn't you? LOL Sylvia | |
