| My terrible, horrible, rotten, no good, very bad dat. yesterday afternoon I was carrying bags of stuff to the garage, my hands were full so when i got into the garage, I kicked the door shut. i heard a yelp and dropped the bags and opened the door. One of the puppies had gotten in the way of the door. she cried and cried for a long time even after I picked her up. She would not put any weight on her leg at all. So this morning I took her to the vet and he xrayed and her leg is broken. So I left her there for them to splint the leg. I went to the petstore to get some dog food and stopped at kmart to pick up a few things. When i got home, I grabbed the bags of stuff, but could not carry the dog food too, so I left the back of the jeep open. when I got in the house hubby said the vet had called and puppy was ready to pick up. I went out got in the car and started to back up. I heard a noise, and realized that the back of the car was still open so I pulled ahead and got out to close it. No damage, it closed fine. I went to get back in the car and it started to roll, I paniced, I jumped in and went to put on the brake but hit the gas instead. The car door was still open as I went speeding backward out of the garage and watched in horror as my car door was bent completely in the wrong direction. I managed to get it under control, just shy of hitting the house. But the door would not close. When I got out to close the back, I had put it in reverse, not in park as I had thought. Our old truck is totally unreliable, yesterday I turned it off at the dump while I unloaded a load of junk and had to have the men jump it to start it. fortunately, it did start for me however, so I took it to go and get the puppy and I left it running while I was inside. Just my luck, NO ONE STOLE IT. So we called a friend (many of you know, my husband is disabled) to come out and help to get the car door shut so I can at least drive it, I have to enter from the passenger side. And Poor puppy has a huge splint on her leg, that she has to wear for 6 weeks. that all happened before lunch. I sure could use a drink. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | OMG girl !!! I'm so glad it was a broken leg and not worse !!! You really DO deserve a drink - that sounds like one terrible day. I'm so sorry for your puppy but it really could have been so much more....try not to beat yourself up over this - we all know how fast these little guys are and they always HAVE to be where we are...you were lucky ....(not to make light of a broken leg but man - I shudder to think of what could have happened) hugs and a little kiss for her ...I hope healing goes fast and that little leg is back to normal quickly - |

| Jeanie, it sounds like you had a really bad start to your day. You most definately could use a drink - perhaps a nice cold glass of sweet tea -- and a great big hug I am so very thankful that the pup's injury was no more serious than a broken leg. Doors are very dangerous to our little ones - especially silly little puppies. |

| Oh I know, I feel so terrible that I hurt her. I couldn't even sleep last night, just waiting for the vets office to open, We were the first ones there this morning, before they even unlocked the door. But I did tell myself, everything, that happened, is fixable and to be glad it wasn't more serious. The car is drivefable, but cannot use the driverside door, the track on the garage door is twisted so I cannot close. I'll have to call fa repairman to get a new track installed. I'm not sure how the insurance works on that, if my auto ins will fix the garage door too, or if it will raise my rates if I turn in a claim. I've never been at fault in an accident before, so I'm not sure how that works. |

| Oh I am so sorry about your bad day the other day. Things do tend to run in cycles like that....one thing goes wrong and it just continues. Yes these little pups tend to be so fast and can get underfoot before you even realize it. I was worried when reading about you in the truck, that the puppy might have been in the way.......so to say the least I was relieved to hear it was the garage door instead....even though that is no fun to deal with getting fixed...Like you said, little pup's leg can be repaired, ....I know that you hate that it happened, but sometimes things just do. The puppy is just beautiful!!!!! Look at that adorable face!!!!! I think he looks pretty happy even with his little cast!! Well anyway, hope today is going much better for you!! Happy Saturday!!
