| Help! Advantage Statement To make a long story short, the job which I have been employed with since June 2007 will no longer be able to keep me employed come August. I was hired under the impression that I would be leaving in August to attend Law School. But have since decided against law school. Already spoke with boss and president and they really can't keep me past August. I found all of this out in early March and have been on a job search every since. I have mailed my resume and cover letter to most of the major companies in my area. I've applied to numerous job postings and all the works. I'm currently working as a Marketing Coordinator for an Aerospace & Defense company. I'm hoping to find a job in a Marketing role or in a Market Research type of role. Anyway, yesterday during one of my many job searches, I stumbled across what I think is a very appealing job. Anyway, instead of a cover letter to accompany your resume. This company is asking for an Advantage Statement, which they say should highlight your strengths, knowledge, skills, experience, etc. I really want to make a good impression but I'm at a complete loss on how to formulate an advantage statement. The HR lady at my current company said it's almost like a personal mission statement or basically an advertisment selling yourself to this company. So if anyone has any ideas, or has any sample Advantage Statements or anything that could help me I would really appreciate it. The job I'm applying for is an Associate in the Client Service Position within the Advertising Department of a major Market Research Firm. I know I'm capable of doing what the job requires, but again, I have no idea how to formulate this advantage statement. Please Help

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Essentially you are telling this company why it's to their advantage to hire you for the position. If you have a description of what the duties are in the position you're seeking...I would try to provide information detailing my experience on those points specifically and if you have additional skills, knowledge, or experience...that are advantageous to the position...tell them. It is not written like a letter...it's in paragraph form. More or less...consider it a paper on YOU. Good luck
