I know southerners that put stewed tomatoes over grits. Only when they are eating it with fried fish. That pretty much makes me go eeee-ew. :p

I LOOOOVE boiled peanuts!! i hated them when I first tried them...I guess because I was expecting a crunchy peanut. but once I got past the expectation, I was HOOKED!! I make them all the time :D

I also love sauerkraut. IMO...a hot dog is not a hot dog without it :D

I also love white gravy. I am the only one of my friends that will eat it...and one of my friends actually wants to vomit when I eat it in front of her LOL I was raised on biscuits and gravy hehehe

this isn't an "ewww" thing, but I can sit and eat a lemon like it is an apple. I LOVE fresh lemons!!!

I love crayfish! When I used to eat pork, I loved fatback. I like chocolate milk and cheese together. :p

I can't understand about those not eating white gravy. That's pretty southern and we all ate it when I was in Tennessee. It is great with sausage in it over biscuits.

For the boiled peanuts....I am having trouble getting some green ones to boil. Californians don't do boiled peanuts. I found an on-line source of 8 pounds for about 28.00 but when I sent an inquiry via the website I received no response. I wish I still knew some peanut farmers.

Out here it is funny....many people have no idea that the peanuts are formed underground. They think they grow on peanut trees, I guess. My best friend didn't quite believe me when I told her that. She thought I was teasing.

You should visit Texas! They love to have Crawfish Boils there. Ot's against the law to call them Crayfish in Texas. :p

My mother put fatback in nearly everything she cooked that had liquid in it. Ugh, for me. I hate fat.

What kind of cheese do you like with your chocolate milk, Kyle? Inquiring minds want to know. :p

Boiled peanuts are delicious! One of the few things I miss since I stopped eating meat are french fries dipped in chicken gravy and biscuits and sausage gravy. We southerners do like our gravy!:p

Did the rest of your family go with you on eating no meat or are they still carniverous?

My daughter stopped first. Then sort of started back. Then we both stopped. My husband still eats meat.

My meat loving husband actually eats a lot less meat now- by his choice.

I do something with my food that usually grosses people out, I mix it all together, regardless of what it is. I never eat my food separated and usually just eat it all in a bowl with a spoon.

That is so funny! I love to mix my food too but only certain things. Like mashed potatoes- well those are good mixed with almost anything!:p

ETA- grits and ketchup? Ewwwww!

Ohhh I love me some grits. With salt. I am originally from West Texas and My BF (who grew up in NY) thinks they are the nastiest thing ever.

I also love to dip my peanut butter jelly sandwiches in milk. Please tell me somebody out there has done this, it is sooo good!!

Hm...lets see...
I eat ketchup on my scrabbled eggs and on mac and cheese.

I also take Romen noddles and break them into small pieces and put the pieces in a zip lock bag with the flavor and mix it up and eat it without cooking it.


I like scrapple. I know what it is and I still like it mostly because it doesn't taste bad.

My younger sister mixes all of her food together, too. I will only mix certain things together and only to certain degrees. Like the mashed potatoes...I will put other foods with them on the same fork bite but not really 'mixed' together. Peas also with them. If we have baked beans I will do the same with them and potato salad. I love potatoes any way you can fix them.

I just can't seem to mix grits with anything other than butter unless it is an egg.



So....we still haven't had anyone beat the Century Egg. :p

C'mon. I know somebody is just not 'fessin' up.
