When I was a kid growing up...I ate peanut butter and jelly and balogna sandwiches.

I have tried escargot, ox tail soup, kim chi, dried squid, hmmmm thats all I have so far...

oh when I was pregnant I ate tuna fish sandwiches, the regular way with mayo and cut up pickles but i topped it off with ketchup....

what is up with me and these sandwich mixes?


PS...I think Blood Sausage and Black Pudding are the same thing...

ok here's one. although it's not a gross as some already posted.
My sister and I went to Auntie Anne's while we were in the mall an we ordered the cinnasticks and pretzel dogs. Well, she decided to try the cinnasticks with the cheese sauce. Ugh! If I hadn't known she wasn't preggo (took a test the day before), I'd swear she was! She did this as I was driving out of the mall and wanted me to try it. I wanted to wreck just thinking about it!

Hmong papaya salad.

Shredder green papaya in fish sauce shrimp &I crab paste thai peppers there are regional variations of and a thai and vietnamese styles too.

I have to prepare it and eat it in the backyard!

I think this was the dish that bumped Lisa off my BFF spot and gave way to CG. But then what was it that bumped you back off? I don't remember.

I gotta go back and read this stuff. I skipped through and saw jellyfish, really I'm not the only one???!

Mention sushi and most people snarl their noses, and look at you like you have 5 heads. I love sushi! I am limited because of shellfish allergies, but you can't beat some good sushi!!

I still can't get over the fact when people snarl at sushi. Or worse, people who eat sushi that won't try other types of sushi! Oh they have no problem eating raw fish, but won't try fish eggs, sea urchin, octopus, or eel. Sorry but if your idea of sushi is spicy tuna, YOU ARE NOT EATING SUSHI!

Or they automatically assume it's all raw and disgusting.
I personally don't like octopus but I love eel. And squid.
I converted many a people by starting them with a simple roll, and then moving onto other things. Heck, even my 3 yr old grandson eats sushi! And popcorn (edamame).

Do you have conveyor belt sushi out there? We have sushi envy here and I love it. It's all you cam eat, has a selection of about 30 rolls and 20 sushi pieces and goes around the room on a conveyor belt. You just reach up and take the ones you want, and the chef is there making fresh to replace. It's my favorite place.

This cracked me up! Does this person not know the origin of the cheesecake? The Greeks put honey on pieces of hard cheese as a treat for children. Sweets, cinnamon and cheese go hand in hand!
She may bowl over in laughter if I told her I dip my Chinese deep fried red bean paste sesame balls in Sambal Olek!

You know what? I used to not like octopus. Had a fear of the tentacles, don't ask. I had octopus at a Greek place and it changed my whole perspctive on it. I thought the Japanese has seafood down, oh no! "Tako" in sushi is hard and chewy, served cold. The Greek way is chunks of the arm, grilled on a bbq or something. So soft, tender and chewy, the "buffalo wing of the sea" I'm famous for saying (ask Lisa). Had some today again at another Greek place, same tenderness that is totally lacking at sushi places.

And yes, the conveyor belt sushi places around here are like the McDonalds of beef. Not good but cheap, and satisfying if you're not picky.
