Denise -"Gizmo's Mom's" grandbaby critical in ICU
 

Please pray for Denise's grandbaby NATHAN who is very sick little boy (6 years old) in ICU. She has been keeping me updated on his condition:

"Just got home from work not long ago. Nathan has been put in the cardiac icu. His heart rate stayed steady at 200 for quite a while. They had to put in a central line so he could have stronger meds. He was critical for quite a while but now were able to sedate. The doctors, of which he has many now, are saying they feel a virus is attacking Nathan's heart. He is on massive amounts of antibiotics. My son was told that this medicine that is slowing his heart could possibly make him stop breathing,but no other choice. Could possibly end up on vent. That's all I know for now hun, thanks for letting me spew". :animal-pa

This was her latest update..last night at 8:29 pm:

"Thanks, Ines. I hadn't posted cause I really had no idea where to begin but I don't mind. I sign on to yorki talk quite a lot because everyone seems to care about each other so much. Hard to think clearly right now, proly just lack of sleep. The lil' brother I think is coming down with an ear infection. Gotta run down to the dollar store and grab some baby tylenol. Tried some benedryl but it went everywhere but his mouth. he ain't having it. I tell you he is a live wire. My son is being good about calling with updates. They gave Maggie, his wife, something to calm her. The hospital is trying to find them a room, but I know neither will leave him. So sorry to hear about your husband and glad he did well. I know the same will be the outcome for Nathan. I feel better for writing you. Have a restful night friend, have one for me.

I pray that God keeps little Nathan in the palm of his hand, protects him and gently brings him through this illness. I also pray that God grants Denise and her family peace of mind and relief from their anxiety.

Hello All~ I just got home a received this link to the prayers for my Nathan, Thank you Ines. You have been a rock for me. I want to express to you all my appreciation for your thoughts and prayers. It all still seems like a bad dream that we will wake up from.

Since I talked to Ines last, Nathan's heart rate went back up and they had to hit him with even more atavan and it has caused him to have great difficulty breathing. He has been off his autism meds since being in the hospital and they had great difficulty putting a mask on him so he has been put on a vent. It's breathing for him, and my son has said that his little arms are tied down. They are having to keep him asleep so they can keep his heart rate down and so he doesn't wake up and freak about the vent hose. His heart is enlarged and one side is very weak. The autism is showing itself very strongly without his meds and he doesn't understand what is happening.

My son called a few minutes ago and said they have taken him for an arteriogram .That is where we are now. It breaks my heart to not be there with them now. Not just anyone can care for his lil' brother Tony, he is autistic also and it is more pronounced in him. So I learn and pray by phone many times a day. Seems like they are a thousand miles away.

Thank you again Ines, for being the caring person you are and for all of you lifting up my baby. Your posts have me all misty but in a good way. God has brought my family THRU so much and I know it will happen again. Sorry so long, just wanted all to know that your prayers mean so much and I have faith will not be in vain. ~Denise

Your family is in my prayers. We just went through heart surgery with my month old neice, who was born with Downs. It was a emotional roller coaster. My prayers and love is with all of you.:heart to

It's always so much harder to deal with when it's a child. They just don't deserve to be so sick. I will be praying that he will pull through. Warm hugs to all of you.
