Update on Nate He is still being kept sedated and the arteriogram is going to be done tomorrow. They will be doing a biopsy on the muscleand deterime what kind of virus if thats what it is. They're not even ruling out that his meds could have caused this. He has been starten on different autism meds while he is asleep and hopefully when they wake him up there will be a good response. Just don't know when that will be. My son said he has lost a a lot of weight but aside from the tubes and hoses he is still pretty and pink and just looks like he is taking a nap. Couldn't sleep so I thought I would post. I wish the arteriogram could have be done as planned before so we would have maybe some answers be now but like I said it was put off till monday. I think if my tv goes out Tony's going to pack his bags and move on down the road. TG for Cartoon Network. He still hasn't cried for his parents. Don't think his little mind has noticed they aren't here yet. As long as Maw Maw's got chicken nuggets and cartoons, that is all he requires. :) Gizmo doesn't sleep by me now that Tony is here. He has been sleeping snuggled on the other side of Tony. He seems to be ok with it. Hoping for some good news today. :animal-pa |

Good morning friends. Nathan's arteriagram was done at 1pm yesterday and we are still waiting for results of the biopsy. They had said we would know by 6pm at least but still waiting. He did come to for a couple of minutes and mouthed the word mama. Maggie asked if he could give her "Pretty eyes" and he did and fell back asleep. Should surely hear something soon. I have to be at work for 6am this morning so I won't be able to post til after 5. Keep them prayers coming guys. Thanks. ~Denise |

Son called and tried to explain a few things. The reason is in the hosp in the first place going thru this is because he was in heart failure. He is not now because he is on the meds. Drs have told them that nathan's little heart is not strong enought to pump the blood that is needed. He is off the resp tho! Only the feeding tube. Waiting to see if he can handle it. Three biopsies were done and still no results yet. They will supposedly tell them how to treat nathan's heart. In weeks down the road if there is no improvement The kids were talked to about heart transplant as last resort. They have a lot to read up on. He's lost his voice for a bit because of the tube but can whisper. He told his mom he was cold and that he was sleepy so she told him to take a nap, they are keeping him calm. He had no problem with that. So everything is pretty much up in the air till we get results back. The waiting is awful. At least they can talk to their baby now. Thanks for keeping up with us, your prayers mean so much. |

i am sooooo sorry to read about your grandson:( and sorry i havent seen this until today. you will all be in our prayers! could it be strept that got to his heart? this sounds alot like when my mom became ill, they came up with strept bacteria, prob. from when she flossed her teeth and her gum bled a tiny bit. the strept got into her blood stream and crystalized on her valve. to have a child in the hospital is so sad, i am gald they are trying to keep him sleeping. its bad enough that he is so young but to have autism also makes it really hard:( looking at his pictures he looks like a little trooper:) |
I've been thinking of this little guy and how he is doing. Having a child ill is one of the hardest things in this world to deal with and I will keep you in my prayers. |
