| Soooo irritated today with work!!!! Last month our IT dept booted a server that was processing our monthly bills, kicking the run. In thier (accountings) hurried/frantic state I restarted the run and submitted it wrong (NOT MY JOB!!!) and so it had to be resubmitted the next day again. Well my boss tells accounting that I will check the statement run sunday night. It pisses me off bc 6 months ago when I got my SH*TTY raise, my boss mentioned possibly paying for my cell phone and internet. Well that has NOT happened... now Im EXPECTED to monitor this thing sunday night ON MY INTERNET and call around if there are any problems on MY CELL PHONE.... accounting has no way to connect from home to check their OWN WORK which is just ridiculous! So why this keeps coming back to me is just STUPID! Im really irritated this time around. IT messed up last month and now Im STILL paying for it with my PERSONAL TIME!!! I know my boss is having a hard week and I dont want to bitch about it all but I dont want to be responsible for this anymore. She says this is the last month... but I HIGHLY doubt that. She says things like that to placate people. I bet this comes back to me next month too... this is all bc I worked with the vendor to create the report. Its not even my report! I hate owning this stupid thing! I live in NH and work in MA. So I pay MA state tax for this job. I also travel 26 miles each way to work. There are so many reasons for me to start looking for a new job. Im going to start looking. Our benefits here have gone downhilll sooo much they are not even competitive in the market anymore. I can't handle this place and all the bullcrap that goes on everyday here. I work with our accounting dept even though Im an application developer and they are all just like robots. They do ONLY what they were told to do. They don't remember what they did or how to do it again if you ask them. I can't keep doing this day in and day out. Im not very understanding when it comes to their excuses at all. GGGGRRRRR Thanks for letting me VENT!

| Awww I'm sorry you're have a bad day/month/forever at work. I can't believe they are making your work for FREE on Sunday! Thats insane and I don't care WHO was having a hard day, I would say something. At the very least my job doesn't expect to see you til 8 am on Monday and and fully expects you to be walking out the door at 5:00 pm on Friday and not looking back until the next Monday.

YT 500 Club Member | i am sorry. I feel your pain. I am in the same boat. I recently graduated, have not gotten a raise for having a BS in Finance (which I think is a big deal?) and all my job offers are entry level. I dont understand this society. They place such high emphasis on getting a degree and when you finish no company will take you without experience. I guess I am also frustrated.

YT 500 Club Member | Your right! I think experience is just as if not more important. I dunno I worked so hard to finish in three years, got good grades and feel like no one will even give me a chance. I know so much about my current job and do almost every task here, I feel totally under appreciated and under paid. I dunno what to do..

| I have found that moving on is the best solution. Im a techie, so I move on a lot... I job hop and I find when I do that I make usually about 20% more each new job I get. Maybe giving your notice or having a sit down with your boss to tell him/her you are considering moving on will prompt them to offer you some incentive to stay.
