Well, as part of increased snooping, I am going to start this thread where we can all get to know each other better! Shelby&Seymour started in the meetup group, so I'll repost that here and we can get started!

OK....... Here ya go. I am a bottle blonde.... actually a redhead. I work a job that mostly men have, and I hope to retire in 5-6 years. When I retire, I want to do something that I really enjoy..... maybe work at Petsmart or a dog boutique. Also would like to do more RV'ing than we do now. My Yorkies are my hobby (they also share my love for camping & rv'ing).


Mostly male occupation, huh? That could be a lot of things. Does it involve physical labor?

I think many people coming to the meetup love RVing. I'd LOVE to have one someday, but alas, at 25, I'd rather get through college first!

Here's some info on me: I'm blonde...but naturally :) I have major weaknesses for diet coke, red wine and chex mix. I work in an industry that is dominated by men, but in a career position that is mostly women. I like shoes. A lot. I own more tools than my DH does, and I'm the "handy" one around the house. I think I'm hilarious and laugh at my own jokes frequently-hey, at least I can laugh at myself even if no one else can! Teeth freak me out, especially loose ones.

Well, I sing opera. I graduated from Wichita State last year in KS with a degree in music performance. Then I moved to Austin TX where I am awaiting residency so I can finish degrees in French and Italian at UT. I am a huge goal setter and have enormous plans for my life. I am the youngest of 4 kids, so I've always felt more like a generation X'er even though I'm only 25. My BF and I moved in together 2 years before we left Wichita, and have lived in Austin together for almost a year. We got Tbone when we got our first apartment. Most of my family still lives in KS, except my eldest brother and his GF who live around the corner from us here. Let's see, I've worked for Outback Steakhouse off and on for 4 years now as a waitress and bartender. I like to make people happy, and serving food and drinks is a very easy way to have happy customers! What else, I love Harry Potter, my 55 gallon saltwater aquarium, hot weather, and my puppies!

BUT I STILL HAVEN'T GIVEN AWAY MY SECRET HINT!!! :p

Well let me see. I will be the oldest one there. I am a grandma (Mimi) to 4 beautiful grandchildren. DH and I are retired and love to go camping. Murfee loves it too. I was raised in KC and 2 of my 3 children were born in KC. I have a horse named Rooster and a donkey named Abigail Rose. I also have 2 new knees!!!! My wonderful, wonderful sister in law Carrie is coming to the meet up with me. She just rescued a yorkie about 3 weeks ago.

Here is goes... I'm 42, married to Bill for 15 years and a flight attendant for United for 18 years. I have no skin kids, only furry, feathered and finned!! I have 5 dogs (3 Yorkies and 2 Chihuahuas), 7 chickens ( all hens) and 15 koi fish! I like to knit, sew, scrapbook, read, go to dog meetups, travel, etc. I was injured on the plane, by hitting the ceiling in clear air turbulence and my memory is crap now...I have to admit that I already forgot what I said my secret was!!! So anyone will be able to get it out of me!!! How dumb!! Maybe Lisa can remind me what I said...:confused:

Ok, here goes....

I'm 40 years old; I married my hubby after only 7 months of dating and have been happily married for 16 years now. I have one 22 year old son, Stevie; 5 yorkies, Miko, Might, Prissie, Kylie and Max; 1 chihuahua/dachsaund mix, Nikki; and 2 big outside doggies Tobey and Gus. I'm the 3rd child of 4, all girls, my poor daddy. (This is a little embarassing fact, apparently the doctor told my daddy that I was a boy before he looked, because I cried like a boy when I came out. How do you cry like a boy????) Anyway, I'm all girl and I love to scrapbook, bake, sew and spend time with my babies and hubby. I've been working the same job for 15 years now and have seen so many young adults come and go, student workers; some of them sad to see leave, some of them, well I'll just keep my mouth shut. ;)

Let's see, I am a California transplant moving from Utah in 1981. I live in the middle of the Mojave Desert and worked in a totally male dominated field for 22 years until I retired 2 years ago. I am also a teddy bear artist and even won an International award in 2004 (Teddy Bear of the Year along with artist of the year) I love making doggie clothes and my 5 yorkies and poodle/terrier mix have a full wardrobe! I will be coming to the meetup with my fiance' Mike.. who I have been together with for over 7 years. I have 3 grown kids, Carl 38, Steven 35, and Lindsay 29, and 4 grandkids. Nope... didn't reveal my secret yet either!

That's awesome that you and Mike have been together for 7 years! I keep telling my BF that we have so much time, but he never believes me!

I was born in CA but have lived in MO since 1964. I am one of the "older" gals attending the meet-up. Have been married for almost 33 years, have 2 grown and married children, a son and a daughter (who is very well known on YT), no grandchildren except for my 2 grand dogs, Sukoshi and Tanuki. YEP, Lisa (Sukoshi's Mom) is my daughter! My furbaby's name is Calli and she is almost 15 mos old. She was a gift from Lisa and her husband. I love, love, love her and she has totally "won over" my husband. I have worked for almost 12 yrs for the Boy Scouts of America, Heart of America Council office in Kansas City. Things I enjoy doing (altho not as often as I wish) are camping, bowling, and planting flowers.

Oh, and I have not told you my secret fact!

Let's see...I turned 47 today. I have one daughter (30 years old) and just came back from visiting her an my family in North Carolina over the long weekend. I've only held two jobs in my life and love them both.

I'm married to the best husband in the world - Thomas. We are avid surfers and surf all over the world. The more exotic the better - it's our passion, in search of the perfect wave.

Lucy is my first small dog. I've always had German Shephards. She is the light of my life and my daughter is convinced I love Lucy more than her :rolleyes:

We plan to retire at 55 and will likely live in Costa Rica where the waves are always consistant!

I can't wait to meet everyone at the upcome KC Meet - Up! I feel like YT is a part of my extended family and I'm very happy to be a part of it :)

My name is Teri. I'm 21 years old. I'm a court reporter in Charleston, SC. This is my first and ONLY career choice. I will be a court reporter till the day I die ...I love it :) My bf's name is Jeff. He's coming to the meet-up too, and he grew up (20 years or so) in Kansas City, so he can be our tour guide or point us in the right direction when we need to get somewhere or find something.

Anyway, I have two yorks, but only Kobi is coming to the meet-up...Granny is just too old for it ;) I'm originally from Hokah, MN and just moved to Charleston in '06 to start work. I have one brother, lives in AZ, 24 years old. I have a HUUUUUGE extended family....36 first cousins on my dad's side, and I'm the youngest of all 36 :) Hmmm....I'm trying to think of some random facts?? Oh, I also have 4 step-siblings, one step-sister is getting married the weekend before the meet-up in Denver (we're going there first, then to KC).

I guess that's pretty much it that I can think of now! Oh, and I did (SORT OF) give away my hint....it MIGHT take a little research....but it's in here in a cryptic sorta way :p

So......what could your secret possibly be? What field did you work in? What does Mike do? Do your chidren all live in California? Sorry if I'm prying but I have to know these things, you know :p :D ;)

So what is your job actually? I didn't pick that up from your post!?! :confused: I'm trying to pry a little and get some info, you know :D I hope you decide to bring all your babies with---I really want to meet ALL of them, not just one or two :p :D
