Sonya - I think of you every time Matt and I take the girls and trailer out to go riding! We go out every weekend we possibly can. My favorite place to ride is the Johnson Valley OHV area (Camp Rock Road), just past Lucerne Valley. It's all part of the Anderson dry lake bed, and I know it's in the Mojave Desert. How far are you from there?

You have no idea how jealous I am that you live in the Bay Area!!!!!!!! If I "could" live anywhere that I've ever visited, it would certainly be downtown SF or even in a 'burb, but with my profession, it's not really feasible right now :'( So anyway, I think that is incredibly cool that you live there---my favorite city *that I've ever visited*.

So what else do you think I should know about you? Hmmm...You have quite a few dogs (LUCKY!)....but any other animals? What cities do you typically have layovers in, or does it change all the time?? I so can't wait to meet you! :)

LOL! Speaking of drinks...if you gals are really up for it, maybe we should consider having a cash bar at dinner??? We'd originally nixed the idea as we have to pay for the bartender if we don't spend at least $250 in revenue, but we're still short on our minimum food and beverage expense, and any drinks you buy (soft drinks as well as alcoholic drinks) would count toward that minimum. Would you guys be interested in that? I'm not a "drinker", so it didn't really appeal to me, and my contact at the hotel agreed it would be easier to just go to the hotel bar and buy drinks there so we didn't have to worry about how much we spent, but if you ladies really plan on having a drink or two (or three, or four, or ... :D), then maybe I should do the bartender after all and help meet our minimum that way? If you divide the $250 by the 47 people currently attending, that means each person would need to spend about $5.50 on drinks. I know some will be fine with the coffee, tea, and water provided with dinner and won't buy anything from the cash bar, but would enough of you be interested in having the open bar that I should talk to the hotel and see if we can still do that? I think they charge $3 for a soft drink, and the alcohol is obviously more than that...

Hello, My name is Gayla Ballew I am 45 yrs. old, was born and raised in Austin TX. I moved to Bryan/College Station in 1981, and have been married to my DH Sam for 26 years. He is a patrol officer for the Brazos County Sheriff Dept. he has been with the dept for 20 years. MY FAMILY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ME, MY GIRLS ARE MY LIFE!!!!! MY FUR-CHILDREN ARE ALSO AS IMPORTANT IN MY LIFE!!! We have three wonderful skin daughters Crystal 24, Amanda 21, Sami Jo 20. Crystal was born with a very rare syndrome 10q Trisomy Syndrome and most children that are born with this do not live very long. With a lot of hard work and Gods help Crystal has been with us for 24 wonderful years...she is our little angel!!!!! She was very sick in August 07 with a bone infection, then a blood infection, and we almost lost her that time…it was the scariest time in my life...She is on the road to recovery now! As she as gotten older her health has gotten worse, but we leave everything up to God!!!! Amanda 21, lives, works and goes to school in Austin and loves it there. Sami Jo 20, works as a Vet Tech & has for the last 5 years, she is attending school and trying to get into nursing school.
I have worked outside the home before, when Crystal was in public schools but now that she is no longer in school I am a stay at home mom to care for her. . We live on 5 acres, and built our house 6 years ago. I enjoy yard work, when it is not 1000 degrees here in TX….LOL. I enjoy reading a good book. I really love MUSIC; I will listen to music over watching TV any day!!!
My Princess Layla came into my life Oct 9, 2006 and I brought her home with me on Dec 8, 2006, she is soo very special to me and she means the world to me.... I have a HUGE weakness for shopping for Layla. I LOVE buying her new clothes……….sooo much fun!!
I also have 4 other dogs and 2 cats.
I love to have a good time...age is only a number to me and I don't feel 45, nothing is more fun then going out on a girls night and have a few good old margaritas...my fav!!!!! Please feel free to ask questions so we can get to know each other.

I work for Transportation Services at Texas A&M, I supervise all the student workers who work in the garages and multiple events on campus, but that's just half of it. My official title is "Business Coordinator".

I really wish I could bring all my babies, but I'm just worried that it will be too much, with all the potty breaks, having them all there at dinner and also being a vendor. Yes, I am going to be a vendor, I've been working all week on new designs, I hope y'all like them. Of course I will be bringing the ever popular sundresses, I have some new fabrics that I'm saving just for KC, so y'all will be the first to see them.

Oh I kind of like being the oldest.. I can be like Wheezer in Steel Magnolias...eccentric!!!! I grew up in Kansas City and my two oldest kids were born at St. Luke's right there on the Plaza. I think I can talk my sil into bringing Skeeter. I'm bringing my stroller and several of my bags just in case. Her brother, my husband, and I will have been married for 40 years this August. I can't wait to meet y'all.

Eric and I have been married for 2 1/2 years but together for almost 9; we like to take our time with things... heehee. I love to read and make time for it daily, no matter how stressed or tired I am. In my non-existent spare time, I love to crochet and would like to learn to knit. My friend bought me a little dog sweater kit for Christmas, but I have yet to tackle it. I used to be into paper crafts but finally just had to give it up for lack of time (and space). I love to shop but rarely do that as well since it's not so much fun with my own money. :p I'm big into accessories and love a good bracelet clearance find!

I haven't been camping in forever but I really enjoy it, or did anyway when we were still going. I would very much like to go again if we ever get our rears in gear and get to it! We have a place not too far from Warsaw, MO on the Lake of the Ozarks, near the 78 mile marker.

I used to bowl weekly on a ladies league and loved it. I wasn't very good but I had the best time and miss it. Dang, I really need to get out there and "get to it" and do some of these things I enjoy again.

As for the flowers, where I live now is the only house I've really planted flowers but I like "playing in the dirt" and the yard looks so pretty with all the different colors of flowers on display.

Now, let's see, have I spilled my secret fact, hmmmmmmm??? Nope, not yet!

LOL.. so you think you can make me give away my secret?? FAT CHANCE! But hey, you could come and visit anytime. It only gets around 120-125 in the summer here.. But ya know.. like they say, it's a DRY heat! Bring your swimming suit cause it is almost manditory here to have a pool.

Now I can't tell you what I did for a living.. Mike is a retired Marine and is into cellular communications. But he has nothing to do with my secret.

Another fact about me.... I once went deep sea fishing and caught an eight and a half foot 125 lb marlin! WHEE!

Oh yeah, and we are only bringing 4 of them with us.. it is too hard for us to handle 5 or 6 at a time with just two of us... we would be tied in knots with leashes
