| Actress..Too Devoted To Her Dog To Have Kids Famke Janssen Too Devoted To Her Dog To Have Kids May 13, 2008 AT 02:17 pm Famke Janssen Too Devoted To Her Dog To Have Kids | I'm Not Obsessed - Celebrity Gossip And Pictures I know people like this...their pets are their children! Famke Janssen has recently said that she doesn't plan on having kids because she's too devoted to her dog. "It has nothing to do with not liking children or anything of the sort. I love children. I love my nieces but it's not something I've looked for. My life revolves around my dog, Licorice. It's all about making him happy. Since I got him he's brought me such love and joy that I thought the only thing I can do is to make this creature happy, comfortable and spoil him as much as I possibly can." That's so cute that her life revolves around him Famke also added that she'd never rule out adoption. "Maybe I'll adopt a kid one day. Would I adopt a baby? Maybe not, it would have to be a kid that's a little older." Everybody always wants to adopt a baby as young as possible so it's refreshing to hear that Famke would want to adopt someone a little older. Kids of all ages need love and families, not just infants. Dutch actress and former fashion model. She is best known for her roles in GoldenEye, Nip/Tuck, and the X-Men ... |

| I tremendously admire and respect people who know what they want and when and don't do stuff because it's the norm.

| I have two very good friends who do not, and will not have children. It's not for everyone, but is for the majority of people. If you don't "desire" children, I would advise, don't have them, and don't feel guilty about it (or let anyone make you feel guilty about it). Children are alot of work, for the rest of your life. They totally change your life, and change you. I can't imagine living on this earth without my children and am so blessed, as they give me so much. They also run me ragged and have each (3) given me at least 20 gray hairs. I do not think dogs can "replace" children, and know they are not anywhere near the same. Dogs are golden, but children are priceless. You get to raise them and eventually let them go into the world on their own. You sit back and see all your love and hard work in action out there. Dogs stay with you for 15 or so years as your sweet and loyal companion. They are much different animals and should not be compared... Now, saying this... I must also add that I recently added Trixie to our family to "fill" a vacancy as my oldest is becoming more independent. So, perhaps dogs do a great job in filling in that vacancy. I must also say that this article (not your post) is confirmation to me that actors and actresses are really airheads. I would most definately say that this actress should NEVER have children.

YT 500 Club Member | This is great because I was telling my mom and sister the same thing one day when we were sitting down talking. I told them that I don't really think I want ti have a baby maybe adopt later but I will be too busy giving all my attention to Poppy. I love children I really do, but I see Poppy being my baby for a while.

| Just my own thoughts. Everyone has different lifestyles and different needs. I have thought of adopting a child and when I do adopt, it will be an older child perhaps 2-3 years old and I very much know deep inside that will be the best for me. Not everybody wants to go through the baby phase and I think it is perfectly acceptable to not want to and there are a lot of older children out there who deserves a home too. I am at that phase where everyone is asking when are you gonna have a child and a lot of my friends already do. Honestly, I love kids for that few hours where I get to play with them but I have no instinct of wanting to be a mother, to have a child of my own. It's hard to explain perhaps I am not at that stage of life where I am the happiest and know that I can provide myself with everything that a child needs and until then, the instinct will not come. My dog do not replace having a human child but I love him dearly as my pet and I do spoil him because he is all mine to love.

| I can see both sides. I have three boys and always wanted a girl but after one of my sons being diagnosed with autism we stopped trying. I miss the times when it was just me and my hubby and we could travel and just go. I think my yorkie girl is my "girl" that I never had and I spoil her. Sometimes I am accused by my hubby and boys of treating her like a human....but she is...lol Last edited by Ines3185lyorkie; 05-26-2008 at 10:39 AM. |

| I know a girl who is... self centered (to be nice). I had heard a rumor that she wanted to have a baby (which horrified me, knowing her) and when I asked her about it, her words were "A baby?! What would I do with that?" I was very glad it was not something she planned on doing just because it may be 'that time' in her life... |

| I do not want, wish or plan on having kids neither is my husband. My dogs and cats are my life. I spoil them so much and I always tell people I was born to spoil them I would not trade them for anything in the world. I love my nieces very, very much they are my li'l princesses and I spoil them more than my sisters do, but I'm just auntie V. I don't have a maternal instinct. We love our married lifestyle and don't want to change it at all. We don't want to commit to a huge responsibility such a child. Dogs can be golden, but when you don't know what to have a kid is ,dogs are priceless too Ppl ask me (specially me more than ppl ask him) who is going to take care of you when you get old and can't do anything for yourself? I don't think you should bring kids to this world so that they can eventually take care of you. I think that is selfish. Plus, sometimes even when you have kids they don't take care of you when you get old. I like children, and it makes me sick when they are mistreated, and I worry about children in the world and I also do things to help them, but that is as far as I can go. I would not like to adopt a child. It's funny, because when I was little I wanted to have 6 kids!!!! People would always tell me I was crazy, they still do though, but now because of the opposite!

| I too have no desire to have children and never plan to have any...I have no desire to be pregnant, give birth or raise a child. My dogs are my children. No, it's not exactly the same as a real child, but it's all I need. I use my maternal instincts with my pets and feel fulfilled by it.

| I will out right tell people I'm not a "kid person". I love my niece, but really can only be around her for no more than a few hours before I lose my mind. I have my cat, and my boys and feel this is the life for me. I dread the day when I will have to say goodbye to any of them.

| I have spent most of my life wanting children, so much so it almost defined who I was as a person. Now with Lily and possible getting her a brother it was my idea to postpone for another year. LOL if I told some people I put children on hold for dogs they would think I am crazy. It just shows life does not always go just how you plan.
