| Cloning Dogs and Cats (!!!!!) I inadvertantly ran upon this while doing another search. I had no idea they had gone this far with cloning. Have a look. They have cloned three puppies from a dog named Missy. There are two places to read. The first one is about the clones. The second one is ablout the scientist. Comments please! Could you? Would you? I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I guess that's why the call him FastEddie. Some researcher thinks cloning might be beneficial in learning about hereditary disease. How these animals will be used is another problem. Additionally, cloned animals have been shown to age faster because it seems that the have the original animals years added to their own. I do think this is all fascinating, although it raises many ethical concerns, and much of the time our technical advances precedes our ethical advances by years if not centuries.

| I personally think it's just creepy & weird & wrong. I'm ok with cloning small animals, such as mice & rats for lab research, but dogs & cats? No thank you! Soon they'll be cloning humans, which I find extremely wrong & unethical! -Amy

| Cloning -- NOT for me You cannot replace a beloved.... whether it is animal or human. Cloning is a futile effort to escape saying goodbye. I think it would be way too painful to have a semi-duplicate of a beloved pet hanging around. |

| I am against cloning in any form. I also know that the attempt has been made already to clone humans. Successfully or not, who knows. I don't believe we ever know the whole truth of what is being done and that is the scary part. It may sound like science fiction but there are some extremely intelligent people out there that do not believe they should be constrained in their endeavors by laws, no matter what. |

| Quote: " According to animal tests, cloning results in a very high number of miscarriages and deformities. " Then why on earth are we still cloning animals?!? Obviously this is something that God does not want, so why are people still fighting for it? Thank you for sharing! I did not know that cloning caused a high number of miscarriages & deformities. You have changed my mind about cloning! Now I must agree with you - cloning is wrong, no matter what animal you clone! The article said that cloning humans is illegal in most countries, including the UK ... do you know if it's illegal in America? -Amy
